Villa Noel is set in a wonderful location surrounded by mountains and sea views situated in the village of Ano Katelios. Katelios, situated on the south east coast of Kefalonia, is a small friendly resort known best for its excellent selection of fish cuisine amongst many other dishes. There are a many restaurants and tavernas, a number of them having beach side dining and friendly bars. The restaurants provide a wide range of food suitable for all tastes. There are several mini markets nearby, providing all the essentials. Katelios Village has its own beautiful beach which is easily accessible by car and is a 20 minute walk from the Villa Noel. The area is popular with walkers, bird spotters, and its peaceful atmosphere attracts those wishing to escape the bustle of busier resorts and offers peaceful beaches and the experience of a traditional Greek way of life. Nearby are many of Kefalonia’s most spectacular beaches such as Mounda, Kamini (with its Loggerhead turtle conservation programme).
Katelios is situated only 5 kilometres from Scala which is one of the most popular resorts on the island. An evening out in the busy resort of Skala offers the diner a world of choice, whilst those holidaying in the serene village of Katelios may wish to retire for the remainder of their evening overlooking the sea towards Zakynthos. For those with an interest in wildlife, there is a conservation centre in Katelios with information on the endangered loggerhead turtles who nest on the local beaches. Boats can also be hired to take you around the beautiful bay. In high season, there is a boat trip to Scala. Car rental is not essential but is needed if you wish to explore the surrounding areas beaches and mountains. There are 2 hire car companies in Katelios. There are ample car parking facilities at the villa.
There are many places of interest around the island including the famous caves in Melissani and Drogkarathi, the beautiful village of Assos with its castle. The stunning Myrtos beach and Antisamos beach near Sami where the famous Captain Corelli film was made, are all well worth a visit. A visit to the Robola Winery in the mountains is recommended when you should also visit the wonderful nearby church. There are also several monasteries on the island. Argostoli, the capitol of the island, is only a 30 minute drive and well worth a visit. You can also take a ferry boat over to Luxouri which is another beautiful part of the island. Ferries are also available from Poros/Sami should you wish to visit other islands.

All we can say is wow!
We absolutely loved this beautiful villa and the lovely island of Kefalonia. The villa was so well equipped and in such a beautiful location. It was lovely to come back to the villa after exploring the island. We loved the short walk down to the beach and to Dreams cafe which we would thoroughly recommend - the food and the owners were fantastic x. Would recommend a trip to Assos and Fiskardo. Argostoli is also lovely, we went on the Sunday so it was nice and quiet and we had a brilliant time exploring the place. Thanks again to Paul and Lynn for all the advice and information, nothing was too much trouble. We hope to return to Kefalonia and stay at the villa again.
The Clarks Holiday
Well what can we say but what a wonderful place Katelios is and villa Noel made our stay even better. Villa is lovely and clean and everything there you could possilby want, a definate home from home feeling. The welcome pack was fab and the Mythos went down very well after the journey from rainy England. We loved seeing the island but always looked forward to getting back to the villa and jumping in the pool and lighting up the BBQ for the evening. We also enjoyed many nights eating and drinking down at the restuarant in Katelios, every meal we had was great and the people where very friendly. We will definatly be returning to Katelios and booking to stay at Villa Noel for sure. Many thanks Paul and Lynn.
Absolutely Fantastic!
We visited Villa Noel, with our 3 children, the last week in August 2010. We have stayed at two villas previously on Kefalonia and this was by far the best both in terms of luxury and position. We could not find fault with the accommodation which is spotlessly clean, spacious and has everything you need. Having been to Kefalonia before we didn't sight-see much this time but did enjoy the lovely local beaches, snorkelling at St Thomas ( amazing!) and had a lovely lazy lunch on the sea front at Argostoli. We spent most of the wonderful days by the pool and struggled to get the children away. Katelios has a great range of restaurants and we had fantastic food every night. The only downside was that we were only there for a week- definitely not long enough. We will be back!!
Spiffing Holiday!
A family of six of us ranging from Gran'ma (70) down to youngest grand-daughter (10) stayed here in the summer of 2010. This is a brilliant, amazingly equipped villa with everything anyone could possibly want available. Sadly, we can't return this year as some of our party are unable to holiday due to other commitments, but I will forever remember the wonderful, laughter-filled times we had and how comfortable we were. Would book again without hesitation.
Fantastic Holiday
My family and I stayed in villa Noel in June 2010, this was our second time to kefalonia and to Villa Noel, I must say this is a fantastic villa with all the modern home from home comforts . The villa is perfectly located close to the small village of Katelios. Lynn and Paul have been very helpful and informative, as were the Property Management Team. We would definately recommend this Villa to anyone wishing to visit Kefalonia. We have had a lovely time seeing the Island and eaten in some great tavernas but it was nice to come back to such a fabulous villa. We look forward to staying here again in the future.
Fabulous family holiday
We had an excellent time at Villa Noel. The villa was fantastic and it was a pleasure staying there. The surrounding scenery was breathtaking. The welcome pack was much appreciated and was very thoughtful. Out of all the villas we've previously rented, this one was the best.
Our best holiday in years!
There isn't much I can say that hasn't already been said but I can confirm all of the great comments are true! Paul and Lynn are only too happy to help and assisted in making our holiday run smoothly. Villa Noel is obviously their pride and joy and it is kept like a home not a 'holiday let'. For some of our party this was the fourth visit to Kefalonia and others their first 'Greek' experience. We all agreed however that we would return to Katelios and Villa Noel without hesitation. My partner and I have been going on holiday to greece for over 15 years and have never found a resort and accommodation we wanted to return to so much! Katelios is small and personal with local charm. It is a real Greek village with tourists and locals living side by side. Yes, Fiskardo is beautiful but it felt a little too picture postcard perfect with not even a leaf out of place - a little staged for our liking. Katelios is relaxed and not pretentious and for us the perfect location. Villa Noel is situated in a quiet spot just outside the main area of Katelios but still within walking distance of Tavernas/shops. You get the best of both worlds with stunning views and tranquility and everything you need on your doorstep. If you like greece, you'll love Villa Noel. If this is your first trip to Greece, you'll love Villa Noel. Enough said!!
A family get-away
Our extended family, 5 adults and 2 children, just spent 2 weeks at Villa Noel and were very pleased with our entire stay. The villa is located in a quiet area, but very close to the small village of Katelios with its restaurants, mini-markets and beaches, and very close (10 minutes by car) from the very nice, sandy and shallow Mounda beach (where the turtles nest). Based on conversations with the locals, the beaches in the Katelios area are shallow and sandy, as compared to the more rocky and faster dropoffs found on the beaches farther North on the island. This being very important for anyone with children. It was such a pleasure to be able to sit on the covered terrace every morning, enjoying a cup of tea, while listening to the sheeps bells in the distance as their shepherd moved them. The terrace was also the last place we sat every night, watching the moon rise......we saw quite a few falling stars from our vantage point. The villa was very comfortable for our large party, the number and size of the bathrooms is just right. The kitchen is very roomy and conducive to fixing family meals....which we did quite often. The pool is very inviting and there are more than enough chairs and loungers to accomodate anyone's needs. All of our (minor) problems were handled quickly and correctly by the property management team and the owners were very helpful during the entire process. The villa is perfectly located for exploring the entire island, but a car is required. We would highly recommend this property to our friends and family.
A Fabulous Week!
We have recently returned from a fabulous week in Villa Noel. The villa is very well equipped and comfortable. As a family of four it had everything we needed, but it would equally suit a party of adults. The terrace is a great place to sit and contemplate the next day. The pool is just the right size and very warm. The position of the villa is ideal, on the outskirts of Katelios, which is an unspoilt Kefalonian village. Nearby are some excellent beaches and snorkelling. I would really recommend Villa Noel for a relaxing and enjoyable family break. The owners have been very helpful too.
2 weeks at peak season
We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children (ages 9 and 11) and have just returned from a fantastic holiday staying at Villa Noel. The instructions to the villa were very clear and on arrival we found a welcome pack of essentials such as cereal, milk, jam, bread, beer, wine, etc....! The villa was very clean and the pictures on the web site truly reflect the lovely decor throughout. Facilities were excellent- all the mod cons you will need and clean towels and bedding in ample supply. Pool nice size for the family but the local beaches were so good we divided our time between beach and pool. Best time of the day was swimming in the pool just as the sun went down behind the mountain- fantastic! Garden maintained well and bbq was huge!! Villa Noel is situated in a lovely spot behind the original old village- 5 mins from the sea by car. Great views (you can see the sea from the terrace by the pool) and nice quiet location. We hired a car for the 2 weeks which gave us a proper opportunity to explore the surrounding area and helped with the shopping! All in all we would definately recommend this Villa and found the owners to be reliable and informative
Fabulous Villa!
We have recently returned from a fantastic holiday staying at Villa Noel. We cannot recommend it enough. The villa is in a beautiful location with a backdrop of rugged moutains and a view out to sea and the neighbouring island of Zante. It is just a few minutes drive into Katelios, a lovely village with lots of restaurants and a few bars for an early evening drink. The villa itself is a 'home from home' with everything you could possibly wish for. The pool and terrace area are stunning and as a result we are booking again for next year so that we actually see some of the island - we just couldn't drag ourselves away from the beautiful relaxing villa!! Thanks to Paul and Lynn and we can't wait to go back. PS. This villa is perfect for families, however, we are a couple and had the perfect romantic getaway.
A Greek Idyll!
Jen and I have just returned from a fantastic first visit to Greece. Everything about our trip was 100% enjoyable and memorable. From our first contact with Lynn and Paul to our return home we had a totally positive experience. The villa is superb and Keith, Jane and Nigel were lovely people to have at hand if anything went wrong - it DIDN'T! Also it was also a real home from home when the visiting white cat took us under her wing and adopted us for the week. What we saw of the island is stunning but the area around Katelios itself was enough to keep our interest in beautiful October weather. An unexpected late season 20% discount at Captain Jerry's Fish Taverna enabled us to eat out evey night- another bonus!. We are already looking forward to another visit - it won't come soon enough.
Greek Magic
We had the pleasure of being the first renters in Villa Noel.We are a family of 5 (children age 11 ,10 and 6 ) and it was our first visit to Kefallonia--we loved it !!!! The villa was ideal --very clean and well appointed -great view from the pool,Katelios was quite sleepy ( a bit far to walk to in nearly 40 deg )-- but has really nice good value restaurants---though they all serve much the same --- lots of fish and traditional Greek food. As it was very hot we had lots of sleepy days by the pool -- had a few visits to Argostoli ( about 1/2 hr in car ) and great trip on glass-bottom boat--definately recommended---good food and drink and saw dolphins !!!!! Had some slight problems with villa ( basically teething problems)--but were quickly sorted out and we were well looked after by Keith,Jane and Nigel All-in-all we loved it !----would just add a car is a must----shops are all a bit of a walk away and bars /restaurants about 1 1/2 miles down track with no lighting
We had a great time!
We visited Villa Noel in May '09. The information and photos on the webiste are accurate, if anything they underestimate the pristine, comfortable and well serviced accommodation. The welcome pack on arrival was very much appreciated and there was no need to rush out to the shops for anything on arrival. Whilst we did hire a car, the pool, the quality of the villa and superb views from the terrace meant that we preferred to spend most of our time relaxing and enjoying the villa. Lynn and Paul provide excellent customer service and we would highly recommend the property. We are both hoping to return again soon!
A Most Enjoyable Holiday
We are a family of 5 who stayed at Villa Noel in June 2009. The Villa is ideally situated with a mountain back drop and clear views over to Zante. The quiet location was perfect for us to spend many an hour by the pool. The Welcome Pack was greatly appreciated as we did not have to rush out to the shops as soon as we arrived. The Villa itself was beautifully presented with all the home comforts. Lynn and Paul have been very helpful and informative, as were the Property Management Team. We would definately recommend this Villa to anyone wishing to visit Kefalonia. We have visited other Greek Islands in the past but this was our first time to Kefalonia. We have had a lovely time seeing the Island and eaten in some great tavernas but it was nice to come back to such a fabulous villa. We look forward to staying here again in the future.
Villa Noel - Katelios
We had the pleasure of staying in Villa Noel in August this year and we had a fantastic time. The description of the villa is very accurate and it is furnished to a very high standard, its very much home from home all the comforts. Lynn and Paul were very helpful and the welcome pack is an excellent idea. A hire car is essential for the location of the villa but also allows you the benefit to explore this beautiful island. Katelios is a sleepy resort and ideal for fresh fish and Greek Cuisine. There is also a large choice of good quality restaurants in Skala. The beaches at Mouda and Kaminia are just wonderful. Our favourite Greek Island by far we will be going back there.
5 out of 5 - The Perfect Retreat
We have been regular visitors to Katelios for many years and think we have finally found the perfect retreat for us.The villa had everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay with a home from home feel . The villa was very clean and well looked after by the maintenance staff and the welcome pack a good starter.Paul and Lynn were easy to contact and found that they were very helpful and booking was made very easy We would definately recommend this property to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday in quiet comfort. The restaurants we visited are Lighthouse, Blue Seas, Dreams and Persas Taverna as these are locally owned. We would like to add that a car is essential to appreciated this beautiful island. We hope to return to Villa Noel soon.
Delighted from Dartford
My husband and i have been staying on Kefalonia twice a year for the last 5 years. This year we were lucky enough to find villa Noel,What a result the villa is fantastic, the interior is very clean and tidy it has been carefully and very tastefully furnished. The welcome back is a very good idea as we were gasping for a cup of tea when we arrived. The walk into Katellios takes about half an hour and it is a pleasenrt stroll.Walking back at 2am was good fun as it was so dark.A cab from Scala cost 15 euros and you can get one from the sea front untill 3am.Anit Samos beech is a good 45 mins drive away but is well worth a visit as it is beautiful.Scala has some really nice tavernas Mia Beli is very good home cooking.Captains bar in Scala is very lively and the do nice cocktails.Status bar in Scala is a local bar and it is run by Dennis and Tess who are very welcoming. We loved the villa so much we have booked it for the whole of September. We will be back again next year for another 2-3 weeks. If you want to get away and relax this is the ideal location.
Holiday with a difference
Have enjoyed first two week stay at Villa Noel in Katelios. It is our first villa holiday and one of our most memorable. The setting is perfect within one mile from the small beach/fishing resort of Ketelios. slightly elevated with sea views surrounded by mountains and hill top villages. The quality of the furnishings is second to none with excellent quality beds to provide a good nights sleep. The welcome pack is great on arrival offering all the essentials to get the holiday off to a good start without having to rush to the supermarket. We had a number of bbq's which added some fun and relaxation around our private pool. Some excellent restaurants in Katelios on the sea front offering a great selection of fresh fish daily. Nearby sandy beaches are perfect and having a car offers drives to nearby Skala with a vast range of quality restaurant's. Finally owners Paul and Lynn offer great support and do their utmost to ensure you have a memorable experience. Undoubtedly will return to the villa in the not to distant future.
5 A Spiffing Holiday!
Six of us had a great time in Villa Noel from 8th - 22nd August this year. There was pretty well every modern convenience you could think of; a shame that some earlier guests had been a bit rough with things like the kettle, toaster etc. so they weren't in a good condition. Our only gripe (having an older person and a person with MS in our party) was that there was no handrail to assist you getting into the pool, although the steps were easy and shallow, but a rail would have helped. We LOVED the village of Katelios, quiet even in August and the people couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The views across the Ionian Sea to Zakinthos were great and the rose garden pretty. The snake festival at St. Gerasimos Church in Marcopoulo was held whilst we were there, but was much too busy to try to get into the church on the day, so we just went the day before and looked at the two little snakes they have in a glass tank. We ate out every other night and BBQ'd the alternate nights, cooking imaginative vegetable dishes in the oven as well!; the butcher in Skala was excellent, including his frozen FISH! (recommend the frozen langoustines!) ... and two massage chairs in the shop - (uh?) which we were actually invited to use! Recommend the Katelios Taverna for eating out; real Greek food served by Ilias and Mercedes who couldn't do enough for us, and even gave my grand-daughter a load of booklets and information for her school project. The friendly white cat which has attached itself to the villa unfortunately had ear mites and ear canker, fleas and also blepharitis in its eyes, poor thing; if anyone actually owns it, maybe it should go to the vet as we didn't feel we could let it into the villa - shame. The MEGA shower in the master bedroom was really something. Must say that the beds were a bit on the hard side for the two less able people in our party, but it must be difficult with lettings to get something which will stand up to a fair bit of wear. A few trips out to other resorts and across the mountains showed us the full beauty of this lovely island, with its pine forests and stunning views. Altogether a lovely and relaxing holiday, and we thank the owners for having thought of so many little homely touches and providing a real "home from home". We usually try not to return to any particular Greek island (been to 23 so far) but will definitely be returning to Kefallinia in the future! Thank you Paul and Lynn and enjoy YOUR holiday!
Villa Noel
We enjoyed our first visit to Kefalonia in July, this year and we stayed at Villa Noel, it really was the most relaxing holiday and one of the most enjoyable. Villa Noel sits slightly elevated and so we woke every morning to blue skies and sunshine, with views over the valley and across the sea to Zante - it was just wonderful. The weather was perfect and the children enjoyed the pool everyday and we toured the island from top to toe - a car is recommended. Our best trip was all the way up to Fiskardo for lunch at the harbour side and the we stopped off at Mythos beach on the way back for a dip in the beautiful blue sea! Katelios is a lovely little resort with all you need but being a family of 5 we found better value shopping at the larger supermarkets near Argistoli. We ate in most of the restaurants and they all offered a good choice, especially the fish - fresh & excellent value. Villa Noel is one of the nicest villas we have stayed in - it had everything you need for a totally relaxing holiday and the air con was definately needed when the temperature reached 35c. The villa was very clean and the pool & garden maintained every couple of days - it is a great credit to Lynn, Paul and the management company. Thank you and we hope to visit again in the future.
