It is a traditional Savoyard build and well equipped with those niceties of life (dish washer, BBQ area etc!), set in an acre of ground and surrounded by fields.
Your accommodation is the top floor of this delightful Savoyard chalet, for up to four people. (Additional occupancy is available on request).
Set close enough to a village to ensure a tranquil holiday and yet only minutes mountain bike ride (through beautiful scenery) away from the patisserie and other amenities.
Access could not be easier with Geneva airport only 45 minutes away (ideal for Easyjet and RyanAir flights from many UK locations) and Cluses, the nearest motorway point, 15 minutes.
A holiday in this lovely region of the Haute Savoie can be as relaxing or energetic as you wish to make it. Days can be spent hill walking, mountain bike riding, horse riding, white water rafting, canoeing, canyoning or paragliding. However for those wishing a more relaxing break there is trout fishing or just lazing by the river enjoying the French way of life…Good Food, Good Wine and an unhurried pace.
Nearby Morillon offers a pretty lake for family picnics or swimming and the medieval town of Samoëns has a superb swimming pool with what must be the best view in Europe.
For tremendous skiing in the winter time you are 5 minutes drive away from the large Telecabine at Morillon transporting you up into the huge ski area (260 kms of pistes) of the Grand Massif with plenty of mountain restaurants and fine runs. Upon your return why not call in one of the friendly bars in the village, or eat at the Savoyard restaurants. See the 'Winter Fun' page for more details.
With a new high-capacity telecabine system installed in Samoëns,the chalet offers quick access to the pistes of the Grand Massif (this links the five resorts of Samoëns, Morillon, Sixt, Les Carroz and Flaine). You can drive to the Grand Massif Express lift in ten minutes. Transport can be arranged if you do not have a car.
The area covers 260+kms of skiing - more than 130 runs at all levels of ability with some of France's most modern high-capacity lifts. Pistes range from the highest (2640m) at Flaine, with its spectacular views of Mont Blanc, through to the challenging downhills of Samoëns itself and the gentle slopes or pretty wooded trails of the family skiing areas it shares with Les Carroz and Morillon. The remarkable "Cascades" run from Flaine to Sixt is 16km long. There are English-speaking instructors throughout the Grand Massif and special facilities for minding small children.
In addition to this huge area there are also 67 kms of groomed cross country ski tracks.

You are 5 minutes drive away from the large Telecabine at Morillon transporting you up into the huge ski area (260 kms of pistes) of the Grand Massif with plenty of mountain restaurants and fine runs. Upon your return why not call in one of the friendly bars in the village, or eat at the Savoyard restaurants. Just a few facts... The 'Grand Massif' is a huge ski area linking 5 main towns or villages - Samoëns, Morillon, Sixt, Les Carroz and Flaine - amounting to 265 km of pistes (+ 90 km cross country) from an altitude of 700 metres up to 2500 metres. There are 131 runs, 11% green, 39% blue, 39% red, 11% black. The longest run is 14 km - Les Cascades - from Flaine to Sixt. The 80+ lifts, telecabines and chairs have recently been upgraded and extended (and continue to be so - the lift management company is extremely capable), so much so that we never saw a significant queue all season, even at the busy February breaks. There are now 6 and 8 person (!) high speed chairs on the major routes and with 128+ snow cannons - we will be skiing this year, regardless! Hover your mouse over the button to close this window... Your choice is further enhanced with the variety of nearby (20 minutes) 'Portes du Soleil' ski area (Les Gets, Morzine and Avoriaz) plus the renowned cross country runs of Pras des Lys. Skidoo rides, Snowshoe expeditions, Ice climbing, Helicopter rides, Paragliding, Weekly Ski shows, Ice Skating, Walking, High altitude skiing in the Vallee Blanche - Chamonix....the list just goes on and on!!! The skiing is excellent (check out the ski facts) with new runs and fast chairs being installed each year. Dedicated snowboarders have an excellent choice of off-piste, 'jam parks', jumps and half pipes. There are frequent events organized specifically for snowboarders: boarder cross, snake runs and Big Airs. We recommend an equipment hire shop on arrival, where our clients receive a 10% discount. Michel, Christophe and Mdme Rols at Rol'Sports are friendly, flexible and you can change your equipment as often as you like.
