Gardener's Cottage has two bedrooms which comfortably sleep four guests (a travel cot is available for one additional child) and is a dog friendly cottage. It has the additional benefit of being wheelchair accessible throughout the ground floor, has a log burning fire in the living room a fully equipped new kitchen, double ended bath and furnished in a vintage style with charming finishing touches.
Gardener’s cottage is a typical 18th century welsh cottage at the top end of Blaenau Ffestiniog. This typical turn of the century stone cottage has gas central heating and has recently undergone complete refurbishment by the owners, who are Gardeners.
The Cottage Location
Gardener’s cottage stands in a quiet location with stunning views across the Moelwyn Mountains and the famous dam at Tanygrisau. There are literally hundreds of activities to enjoy in the local and surrounding areas, including Llama trekking, hill walking, underground abseiling, white water rafting, quad biking, horse riding, fishing, shooting, climbing or more leisurely activities such as visiting Portmeirion, Betws Y Coed, Llechwyd Slate caverns or Bodnant Gardens to name but a few! An activities book with details is provided in the cottage.
The Accommodation
The cottage boasts an original Inglenook fireplace with a log burner, starter pack and fire building instructions provided and furnished with colour TV, Ipod stereo, plenty of reading material and luxurious touches to add to the charm of its character. It has private parking for 2 cars, 2 double bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, dog proofed garden and the entire ground floor can be accessed by wheelchair.
The newly fitted kitchen is equipped with the latest induction hob, a microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine and includes necessities such as tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid and welcome hamper.
The bathroom has a shower and a double ended bath for couples who enjoy a soak together. Fresh linen, towels, toilet rolls and soap are provided and can be refreshed mid-week for an additional fee.
The ground floor bedroom can be set up as a single, twin or queen sized bed, is restfully decorated and has patio doors into the garden which offers uninterrupted views across the fields and mountains beyond.
The upstairs bedroom is beautifully decorated in a vintage style and the Victorian style, double bed has a new Tempur mattress.
Pets are welcome but we respectfully ask that owners refrain from allowing them on the beds as future guests may have allergies. Throws are provided in case they jump onto the sofas and there is a dog bowl for water. A local dog sitting service is available.
A highchair, travel cot and portable stair gate are available, however, children must be supervised at all times as it is not practical to fit a fireguard in the Inglenook fireplace.
Wheelchair access throughout the ground floor.
