Description

In fact there can be few greater pleasures than basking in our bubbling Jacuzzi on the terrace and enjoying a glass of our complementary House Champagne. Without doubt the breathtaking views will help nursing weary limbs after an exhausting day on or off the slopes…

The interior is clean, sharp and chic, with unfussy, modern touches to celebrate good taste and style. It has a beautifully calm, uncluttered feel to it,

and lots of pleasing, feng-shui’d symmetry. In the centre of the fabulous open-plan living space there is a giant movable fireplace. But it is not remotely austere or showroom – there is not a chair you feel you can’t collapse in or a table you can’t put a mug down on because of the more typical ski chalet touches like the throws, comfortable Natuzzi sofas combined with materials such as timber, leather, stone and granite that are used throughout.

Located in the heart of the Valais, the sunniest region in Switzerland, Grimentz offers an escape into nature at the gateway to some of Switzerland's most famous 4000 metre mountains. This chalet is heaven!
Sipping champaign in the jacuzzi while enjoying these stunning views - we did not want to leave again. The skiing was excellent, great powder and ample pistes to choose from. The chalet is close enough for our 4-year-old to ski or walk to the piste. We are going to make this an annual trip from Shanghai!

There is a huge range of possible activities in the valley and it is also easy to chill out and relax – sitting in the Jacuzzi on the balcony with a glass of Champagne – can it get any better? Experience not to be missed
Our visits to Grimentz at Chalet C have been experiences not to be missed. Having skied in many resorts in the French, Swiss, Austrian Alps amongst other countries, Grimentz is a rare and relatively undiscovered gem. We are a family with young kids (4 and 6) and love the authentic mountain experience in an uncrowded, challenging ski-resort that Grimentz offers. The village is equivalent in charm to the famous Zermatt, with similar style architecture, but without the high prices and crowds. Chalet C by Chivoone must be one of the most luxurious places to stay in Grimentz and we absolutely loved it. The contemporary design perfectly fits with the traditional atmosphere of Grimentz. Regarding skiing, we found that Grimentz's high (mostly over 2000m) and North-facing slopes always offered excellent snow conditions. There are also some fun off-piste opportunities next to the slopes that we played with, which do not get tracked out so fast. There are, of cause, guides one can book for more serious tours. And when one wants a change, there is the rest of the valley available to be skied (St-Luc, Zinal for example) which also offers a lot of great skiing..

Wonderful relaxing stay
We have had a wonderful relaxing stay here. We came out of the skiing season in October for a restful week with our two young children and we weren’t disappointed. Whilst we were here we were lucky enough to have some snow which completely changed the landscape and made it even more magical. Our daughters enjoyed making a snowman and walking on the slopes of Grimentz. The chalet is brand new and equipped to a high specification. We appreciated the spacious feel, the level of comfort and warmth. In the kitchen you will find everything you need and having a washer and dryer to use was extremely convenient. The views are mesmerising from every room in the chalet and in the morning you will start the day with a wonderful view of the mountains. Sitting on the terrace it was amazing how the light and landscape changed throughout the day. Grimentz is a great location, both in what it offers and the position for visiting other valleys. From the chalet it’s a short walk down into the village and during the winter season you can get onto the pistes for some powder in 5 minutes. On our last day we visited St-Luc. A modern cable car takes you from the sunny little resort of St. Luc to the Tignousa Alp at 2,186 meters. Here you have a breathtaking view of the 4000-meter Valaisian peaks including the top of the Matterhorn. My husband and I are thinking when we can next return – considering the amazing skiing facilities on the doorstep of the chalet - definitely a ski holiday in the future.
