Villa Hestia offers seclusion and stunning mountain views nestled beside a well-established olive grove. The villa is situated on the edge of Pylona in a former olive grove dating back to at least the nineteenth century. In Pylona guests will find four small cafes as well as tavernas frequented by the locals and a small village store. In the 1990s an ancient Mycenaean Cemetery was discovered on the edge of Pylona. The cemetery is a 2 minute walk from Villa Hestia and is well worth a visit.
The villa is fully-furnished and equipped offering a relaxing poolside area and pergola covered terrace. There is also a large sun terrace on the first floor equipped for alfresco dining. The first floor bedrooms each have private balconies for taking an early morning cup of coffee whilst watching the sun rise. The villa also has private off-road parking. It also provides a weekly house cleaning, twice weekly pool cleaning and new linens are provided at the beginning of second week on a two week booking. There is also air conditioning, shutter blinds on all windows and a twenty-four hour telephone number for emergency call out.
Pylona is a 5 min drive from the historic town of Lindos. For many Lindos is the highlight of a holiday on Rhodes, with its ancient acropolis, medieval fortifications and bustling shopping area. Lindos was one of the three ancient states of Rhodes with the acropolis dominating the hill overlooking the village. It is now one of the prettiest and most photographed villages in Greece boasting some of the hottest summer temperatures. If you dont fancy walking from the village to the acropolis then for a small charge you can take a taxi from the square. The centre of Lindos is pedestrianised and so you will ride a donkey!
There are many wonderful beaches close to the villa, some quiet whilst others boast all the water sports and cafes you could require. Our favourite is Glystra. It is a beautiful, sandy beach and is just a 10 minute drive from Villa Hestia. This beach provides the ideal spot for sun seekers to relax and top up their tans. There are no beach side hotels at Glystra and so even in the height of summer the beach provides plenty of space and does not feel crowded. It provides the perfect alternative to the more crowded beach at Lindos. Parking is at the beach edge, next to a small cafe / shop. Shower and toilet facilities are available.
Rhodes Town (a 40 mins drive is well worth a visit). It is divided neatly into new and old quarters. This Old Town is the best preserved medieval fortress town in Europe with countless narrow cobbled streets and magnificent historic buildings. Once outside these walls, the coming and going of yachts in Mandraki harbour and the bustling cosmopolitan attractions of the New Town provides an interesting contrast.
For the children (or the child in you) why not visit Falaraki Water Park. This park is the biggest in Europe. The park is located in Faliraki and is easily accessible from the coast road. There is so much to do. Start on the water slides, the lazy river or the black holes. Then try out the rafting slides, the giant slide (about 140m long) or the kamikaze slides! Alternatively relax in the huge wave pool, the aqua-gym or the pool-cafes. There is a large car park. From here the rides are accessed by a fun shuttle train. Both parking and train are free of charge. There is one fee for entering the park and then all rides are free. At this water park you will experience a very different atmosphere than on the beach.
This region of Rhodes is one of the largest Greek islands and boasts of an average of 300 days of sunshine a year. It is the sunniest spot in Europe providing the ideal centre for sun-seeking holiday makers with the island providing a wealth of alternative activities, breath-taking scenery, historic sites, bustling nightlife and traditional island life giving a perfect holiday for all tastes. The area boasts of some of the cleanest sand and shingle beaches in the Aegean ring.

Eating out on Rhodes is a great pleasure. For Rhodians a restaurant is more than a place to have a bite before the evening entertainment, very often, dinner is the entertainment. There is much more on offer than just moussaka, tsaziki and Greek salad. Try the mouth watering selection of Rhodian dishes that have been influenced by its lively history, going all the way back to antiquity.
Nowadays Rhodes offers a multitude of different eating options, to suit all tastes and pockets. From top class restaurants serving international cuisine to simply furnished, but nicely decorated, basic Greek Tavernas. Small coffee shops serve light snacks. You will find something to suit every palate. There are also ethnic restaurants serving Chinese, Indian, Scandinavian, German and Italian food. For those who want something quicker or simpler there are plenty of fast-foods such as Souvlaki and Gyros Pitta, Chips and Burgers.
You are never short of an interesting day out.

Hi Karen,
Having returned quickly back to work I forgot to send an email to say how much we enjoyed our stay at Villa Hestia. The villa was excellent, spacious, clean and just right for us. We loved the sun roof and used it on many evenings. The pool was also lovely and clean, the location quiet yet convenient .
Thanks again.
Regards
Rob, Kate and family
As customers, we felt respected. Everything in the house was in perfect condition and neat. We appreciated that the pool was serviced every other day and the linen changed once a week. The location was fine near food market, beaches and restaurants. I would not hesitate to recommend the villa to family and friends."
We spent two weeks at the villa in August 2010, we were impressed with the standard of the villa it met all our expectations. The pool was excellent and the personnel who looked after the property were very helpful as regards local knowledge. The local village was quiet, we enjoyed having a drink in the taverns most evenings they have not seen the merits in catering for the villa complex yet, basic but quaint.
On the edge of a quiet traditional village, this is one of a small group of holiday holiday villas. The village has everything we needed. Great beaches a few minutes away in the car. We recommend Glystra beach. The villa is spacious, clean and fully equipped. The pool is big enough for everyone in the villa to swim together.
Some Brits living nearby did say that it gets very hot in the summer
We had a lovely stay in Villa Hestia, it was spacious, clean and good comfort. Bakery and supermarket just around the corner.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Hestia. The villa was excellent, spacious, clean, of a high standard and just right for us. We loved the sun roof with great views and used it on many evenings. The pool was also lovely and clean (cleaned three times a week), the location quiet yet convenient.
Karen and David Foster
