Description
Temple Guiting, the 12th Century residence of the Knights Templar, is an historic village where most houses and cottages are built with traditional honey-coloured Cotswold stone. The young River Windrush meanders south through a delightful deep wooded valley.
There are many footpaths and bridleways for a quiet stroll or a more adventurous walk; you can even join the Cotswold Way (two miles away).
The village stores provide for everyday needs with a Post Office facility two days a week. Two inns offering home-made food from local produce are within one mile.
There is a golf link within 6 miles, horse riding 5 miles and a leisure centre with pool and gym is within 7 miles.
An ideal base for a holiday, Temple Guiting is centrally situated within a 7 mile radius of other well known places of interest which include: Bourton-on-the-Water, Broadway, Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the-Wold, The Slaughters and Winchcombe. A half hour drive will take you to Cheltenham, Cirencester, Stratford-upon-Avon or Tewkesbury. Nearest railway stations are Moreton-in-Marsh 20 minutes and Cheltenham 30 minutes. There are many National Trust houses and gardens to visit nearby.
Features of The Furrow include a fully equipped oak fitted kitchen with conventional electric hob and oven, microwave, integrated fridge with freezer compartment and automatic washing machine plus ironing facilities. ample tea towels, hand towels and detergents supplied. A combination boiler enables guests to instant hot water and full oil central heating which are included in the price.
The spacious Living/Dining Room has satellite TV with DVD, Video and CD Player. Amply equipped bookcase and other home comforts with charm and character including an electric wood-burner for extra warmth making for a cosy atmosphere.
From the living room there is a downstairs cloakroom with luxurious power shower and under-floor heating. Towels and toiletries are provided.
The tranquil bedroom is classically decorated and contains a king-sized bed with tempur mattress, a TV with DVD for lazy mornings, plenty of storage and comfy seating. Alteratively the bed can be made into two singles if so desired. High quality Egyptian cotton bedlinen is provided.
The bathroom allows beautiful views of the unspoilt valley and open countryside. Features include a cast iron bath with hair-washing attachment. Dressing gowns, hair dryer, towels and toiletries are all provided.
A single bed and double sofa-bed are also available at a small charge.
Children welcome and baby-sitting can be aranged (not included in price).
Ample enclosed parking.
Benches dotted around the gardens for guests relaxation.
