Why not book a Spring or autumn break when the Island weather is very mild and you can enjoy the Island at its prettiest and when it is less busy. Even if the weather is not kind you can sit indoors and watch the windsurfers making the most of the waves rolling into the bay.
The Isle of Wight lies off the South Coast of England and is reached by ferry from Lymington, Southampton and Portsmouth. The Island is renowned for its jurassic coastline, Its laid-back atmosphere "like going back to the 50s", and its links with Queen Victoria, who spent her summers at Osborne House on the Island and is very popular with those seeking a relaxed old-fashioned holiday.
Only 23 miles by 13 miles and a short sea crossing from the Mainland the Island has a unique atmosphere and is full of old world charm. Visit unspoilt villages, fine seaside resorts, walk beautiful coastal scenery, eat locally caught seafood.
Explore the island's varied places of historial interest - the dinosaur excavation sites dating back 120 million years, the Roman Villas at Newport and Brading, Carisbrooke Castle where Charles 1 was imprisoned and of course, the magnificent Osborne House the favourite country home and retreat of Queen Victoria. Steam enthusiasts will love to travel on the steam railway at Havenstreet. Many well-known literary and artistic figures have lived on or visited the island including Julia Margaret Cameron, Joseph Turner, Tennyson, Keats, J.B. Priestly and Dickens who wrote part of David Copperfield in Bonchurch. And don't forget to visit the famous Needles and the famous yachting mecca of West Cowes.
Freshwater Bay is located on the 'dinosaur' coast and adjacent to Tennysons Down, yet only a 15 min drive to Newport the island's capital. The apartment offers some of the most dramatic views on the island and is only a par 4 from Freshwater Golf Club (where you can 'pay and play') .
The seafront location is perfect for all sea sports including swimming in the Bay, scuba, snorkeling, windsurfing and fishing. Sightseeing and fishing boat trips are also available at nearby Yarmouth Harbour. Two Hotels with bars open to the public are within 2 mins walk of the apartment and there is also a tea room for light lunches and snacks just across the road. A post office and shop are within a short walk and a larger supermarket is within a mile in the town of Freshwater. Farringford Manor (former home of the renowned poet Sir Alfred Lord Tennyson) is within walking distance and the afternoon tea there is lovely.
A perfect location for a relaxing sea front holiday or a fantastic base to explore the beautiful island by foot, car, or bus (bus stop in the Bay). The open-top bus tours the Island and a day or week rover ticket can be purchased from the transport company.
Children over 10 years are welcome.
The apartment is ground floor and therefore may be suitable if one of your party has limited mobility - but it is unsuitable for wheelchairs.

Best Holiday Flat Ever
We had the most super holiday here. It was wonderful to walk through the front door and immediately see the quality and care that had gone into this property. We knew at once that we had chosen well.
Everywhere was truly immaculate and so well equipped, we really couldn't believe our luck in finding it.
The icing on the cake was looking through the french doors at that view, to be able to even sit inside and still have this fabulous outlook.
We had a great time exploring the Island and Osborne House is a must. There are some lovely walks directly from the flat, it was great not having to use the car every day.
Most evenings we ate on the patio, but had a couple of excellent meals in The Red Lion. We shall certainly be making a return visit and would recommend to anyone.
