Le Bijou, No 1 Sorbonne, is an elegantly decorated jewel located in the Boland, about 80 kilometres east of Cape Town in one of the most beautiful wine valleys in the world. Le Bijou can sleep up to four people and is situated in the newly built, Sorbonne security complex in Akademie Street, Franschhoek. It consists of one double and one twin bedroom, two bathrooms, an open plan living/dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, a safe in the room, a parking bay and its own garage. Two plasma TVs, a DVD player, a CD & iPod player, wireless internet, a gas fireplace, air conditioning and under floor heating add to its charm. Each room has its own luxurious linen, towelling gowns, towels and pool towels. Cool off in the communal pool before enjoying quiet evenings on the undercover patio with its own intimate courtyard.
The apartment has been awarded four stars by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa. In their summary, they stated that 'No 1 Sorbonne is a delightful two bedroomed apartment in Franschhoek. The apartment is well designed, with an excellent use of space and high quality finishes. The lounge/dining area is open plan to a beautiful granite and Cherrywood kitchen, and the apartment also has its own private patio. The complex has a lovely pool for guest use and the security is excellent'.

Franschhoek is the gourmet capital of South Africa. It nestles in one of the world’s most beautiful valleys surrounded by vineyards that make it the food lovers’ delight. With 42 wine estates, producing some of the world’s finest wines, most are easy to visit and enjoy. In Franschhoek itself, the main street is the heart of this vibrant village. It is lined with shops and cafes as well as arts and crafts studios and galleries. In the countryside, it offers energetic hiking, walking, cycling, horse-riding, fly fishing and golf. It is truly a magical place.

Great apartment
Wow! Great apartment in a lovely town. Everyone is so friendly it’s a fantastic place to stay!!
House was spotless
We stayed 29 days at 1 Sorbonne and we enjoyed it very much. The house was kept spotless and Liesbeth cleaned it very well. Compliments and thanks.
