The Old Chapel is situated up a small lane on the edge of extensive woodland just on the edge of the village of Yorkley (approx. 1,000 inhabitants). You can literally go walking right from the door. The open-plan lounge/dining area measures 31' x 16' and has high pine-panelled ceilings. It has a wood burner stove (plus oil central heating), original wood flooring, extensive pine paneling, a Gothic chandelier and many homely features. There is a 42' flat-screen TV with freeview, and a DVD recorder. The bedroom on the ground floor is situated off the lounge and is mainly in sage green/pine paneling. A pine staircase off the dining area takes you up to the second (galleried) bedroom which overlooks the lounge. The ceilings here are high with pine timber beams and lots of pine ballastrading. The kitchen has all mod. cons. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, bath, toilet, bidet, and wash-hand basin. At the rear is a large utility room and a courtyard garden. The atmosphere is warm, relaxing and romantic.

Definitely the best holiday cottage
Definitely the best holiday cottage we’ve ever stayed in - we all loved it. It was so cosy and of course it's just that ‘something different’ feel to it. Peaceful, quiet and warm. We couldn’t have asked for more.
Thank you so much
Thank you so much for the most wonderful holiday week. We have managed to relax and recuperate here more than we have managed to anywhere for the last few years! A truly special place that cocoons you in wood and cream comfort. Relaxing, romantic, calm, warm and happy and a great base for the beautiful Forest of Dean. Looking forward to returning before too long!
PS: Thank you for all the lovely touches that made us feel so welcome and for the best information pack we’ve ever come across! (H & P)
Beautiful cottage
Beautiful cottage, well furnished and equipped, great time!!!! Many thanks for providing a super base
could not have found a nicer place
We came away for a complete break and could not have found a nicer place. Will recommend to friends. Thank you.
What a wonderful place!
What a wonderful place! We've had a relaxing early Christmas weekend. Location is excellent and The Old Chapel is definitely home from home. You can feel the personal touch! Very cosy snuggled around the fire. Many thanks
A lovely relaxed time
The first couple to spend Christmas at the 'chapel'. We both found the chapel to be a home from home, big log fire, big Christmas tree. Thank you to Doreen and Gerry in making this one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. A lovely relaxed time, cheers!
Very cosy
Very cosy here with lovely thoughtful touches. Thank you for a relaxing start to 2009
Great place
Great place, felt like home 10 mins after arriving! Perfect new year's eve, lovely start to the year. We wish we had another week....
What a beautiful house
What a beautiful house, we wish we could live here! The scores of candles made for just the cosy, rustic break we wanted in a cold British winter. I can't say enough about the tasteful, perfect finishes to all. We will be sorry to go home, but will definitely recommend to friends and family.
we enjoyed staying at the chapel
Well, words cannot express how much we enjoyed staying at the chapel, a real home from home feeling. Thank you for making our short break an enjoyable one. We would recommend the chapel to our friends and family
The perfect romantic setting
The perfect romantic setting to remind us how fantastic our uninterrupted company is! The cottage is beautiful... a cosy blanket and the wood-burning fire helped us to escape the hustle and bustle of our hectic everyday lives. Thank you for a wonderful time. See you again soon.
