With sun most of the year round it is a delight to visit Marbella with its long esplanade, shops and old town, Puerto Banus for designer shops and restaurants, and Estepona for its beach, marina and markets.
Further afield visit the mountain town of Ronda to see the gorge and the Bull Ring. Also visit the white villages of Istan,Ojen, Gaucin, and Casares, and the nearest, Benhavis boasts a formidable collection of restaurants and is known as the “dining room of the Costa Del Sol”.
Past Gibraltar, the road to Cadiz climbs to 1000 feet above sea level and offers stunning views of the mountains of North Africa. Continue and you will arrive at Tarifa, on the Atlantic Coast, with its 7kms of golden sand. This is one of Europes principle windsurfing and kite surfing venues (so its often quite windy!), but the old walled city with its narrow streets, bars, restaurants and shops is worth a visit for anyone.
The apartment is situated on the beach side of the N340 at Cancelada (KM166) and is less than 300 metres from a large uncrowded beach, with bars and restaurants in either direction and a beach restaurant called Heaven,is about half a mile further on. There are also blue flag standard public beaches nearby in San Pedro and Estepona. This is the junction for the Los Flamingos Golf Course and the Villa Padierna Hotel and Resort complex. There are a variety of restaurants, bars, shops, banks and supermarkets within a short walk across the bridge to Cancelada, By car the shopping and entertainment attractions of Puerto Banus are only 10 minutes away, and the centre of Marbella (old town and long esplanade) a further 10 minutes. In the other direction Estepona is just a short drive away it combines the quaintness of the old town with a beautiful beach and promenade and a busy marina. Selwo Safari Park is also only 10 minutes away. There are markets in the area most days of the week, Wednesdays at Estepona, Thursday in San Pedro , Friday across the footbridge in Cancelada and Saturdays at Puerto BanusBull Ring.

The apartment is easily accessible from Malaga airport using the new AP-7 toll motorway. It takes approximately 45 minutes drive time from the airport car hire pick up to arrive at the apartment.
Car hire is available at the airport, the company we personally use is www.doyouspain.com
Buses from Malaga Airport go directly to Marbella Bus Station, the service runs regularly and is cheap, just 3.68 euros. You can call the bus company on 0034 902 527 200 or visit the website: www.ctsa-portillo.com where you will find details of all routes along the Costa del Sol.
A meet and greet service can also be arranged where your own personal driver will meet you at the airport and take you directly to the apartment.

On the roof
We practically lived on the roof of this upper floor apartment which is not overlooked from any direction. The sun shone every day, there are loungers, umbrellas, a barbecue and a shaded dining table. The swimming pools were superb for cooling off in and were practically unused in May. The apartment itself is very comfortable with quality furniture and fittings and a fully fitted kitchen which was fine for every meal we cooked (including a mega paella), There are British TV channels and plenty of reading material to fill the spare moments. There's a good English owned bar just over the main road and a very tidy village/residential area with restaurants and shops immediately behind that and a full sized supermarket within 10 minutes walk. I'm sure that some people could manage without a car because there is a bus route on the main road serving the various towns but we did the full tour of the area including the El Chorro area with it's Camanito Del Rey (the world's scariest path). You can easily walk to the beach but with that roof garden, why bother.
Home from home
So glad we found this beautiful apartment which fulfilled all our needs and even more. Its definitely a home away from home. Spent loads of time either on the terrace overlooking the pool and garden or on the huge and very private roof terrace, which was even more beautiful than we expected. Had a couple of BBQs there with friends living in this area - everyone was just happy and pleased about this place. Even in august you never had the feeling the sun beach complex is overloaded with people. Just a few at the pool, it never was too busy. Our girls aged 13 and 14 could easily do beach walks on their own, visiting coffee shops there and enjoy their holiday (without boring parents!). We had a rental car there cause we also travelled around, went to different beaches, evenings in Marbella or Puerto Banus. It's a perfect location to reach loads of interessting places on the Costa del Sol. We can highly recommend this wonderful apartment. Thanx a lot again to the owners. Susan & Sven (Germany)
