Welcome to Edinburgh, welcome to AJEM Self Catering!
Whether you are coming to Edinburgh for a weekend with friends, a family holiday, to enjoy the sights, shopping, go to the theatre or to use as a base to explore Scotland, we offer you comfortable apartments that make you feel like you are staying in a home from home!
Our apartments are ideally located for exploring Edinburgh and the surrounding area. It is only 5 minutes by bus from Princes Street, The Royal Mile and the Playhouse Theatre (or an approximately 15 minute walk).
There is free parking just round the corner of the apartment in the side streets.
The apartments have a living room with comfortable seating area, dining area, large screen TV, radio alarm clock, free WIFI and internet computer with broadband connection. Books, various board games and toys are provided for use by guests.
The modern kitchen is fully-fitted with an oven, hob, microwave, washing machine, fridge-freezer and various kitchen gadgets.
142 Easter Road Apartment 4 has one bedroom with a super King Size Four Poster bed, one twin bedroom and a comfortable luxurious double sofa bed in the living room, providing sleeping accommodation for up to 6 people.
142 Easter Road Apartment 5 has one twin bedroom and a comfortable luxurious double sofa bed in the living room, providing sleeping accommodation for up to 4 people.
Duvets, pillows, linen and towels are included in the rental and changed on a weekly basis. A travel cot and high chair can be supplied by prior arrangement.
The bathroom has a toilet, bath and shower.
We are a non-smoking accommodation.
Pets:
Your pets are more than welcome to stay with you at the apartment, at no extra cost. A basket, bedding, bowls and a cat-litter tray are provided for your pet. The apartment has a large crate available and additional crates can be provided.
There are several places nearby to walk your dog. London Road Gardens is only 2 minutes up the road and the Queen's Park with Arthur's Seat only 10 minutes away. Furthermore, the beach can be reached in just 10 minutes by car or 15 minutes by bus!
As we are also the owners of Quiraing Dog School, we can provide training and behaviour counselling for all types of dogs. If you book a training session at the same time as your accommodation, we will give you a 10% discount on our training fees.
Shopping & Dining:
A supermarket is just on the doorstep and also nice, convenient small shops ranging from wine merchants, a pet-shop, fruit and veg shops and gift shops. For those who do not feel like cooking there are take-away shops and good quality restaurants very close by.

We will then contact you to confirm your booking and arrange payment. We require a 25% deposit to secure your booking, with the balance payable 6 weeks before arrival.
Cancellation Policy.
Please note that should you choose to cancel we can only refund this payment if we manage to re-let the property. If the property has to be re-let at a lower charge we reserve the right to retain the difference from your payment. We would strongly recommend you have sufficient travel insurance to cover such a cancellation.

How to reach the Apartment
From Princes Street (the Tourist Information Centre)
The Tourist Information Centre is at the East end of Princes Street, above Waverly train station. On exiting the TIC:
a. Exit onto Princes street. Take a right turn to Waterloo Place. Follow the road to Abbeyhill traffic lights then take a left onto Easter Road. Cross at the traffic lights and continue down onto Easter Road. Walking time = 10-15 minutes
b. Exit onto Princes street. Cross the road and take the number 1 bus. Exit at the first stop on Easter Road (ask the driver). Cost = £1.30 per person. (N.B. No change is given)
c. Exit onto Waverly Bridge. Take a taxi. Cost = £5. Time = 5 minutes.
By Car
South & East: Take A1 Edinburgh/City Centre. Drive past Meadowbank shopping centre. At traffic lights keep to the left, at next traffic lights turn right onto Easter Road.
West : Take the A8 (City Centre). At Princes Street turn left onto Charlotte Square. At the end turn right onto Queen Street. At the roundabout turn left (Leith/Portobello), at next roundabout turn right onto London Road (A1/Portobello). At the 3rd set of traffic lights turn left onto Easter Road.
North: take the A90 (City centre). After crossing the bridge take a left at the traffic lights and left again onto Great Stuart Street. Take 2nd exit on roundabout, bear right. At traffic lights continue onto Queen Street. Further as above.

The transport links in and around Edinburgh are great so you won't need a car once you're here. There is a bus stop in our street (100 meters walk) from where you can take a bus into Princes Street (nr. 1) or halfway up the Royal Mile (nr. 35). From the top of the road (London Road) you can take the nr. 26, which takes you to Princes Street, Murrayfield Rugby Stadium, the Zoo and beyond. This is a 24 hour service and runs approximately every 5 to 10 minutes during the day and every 20 minutes at night.
From Edinburgh Waverley Train Station
a. Exit onto Princes street, cross the road and turn right towards Disney Store. Keep walking and at traffic lights turn left and go down the hill. Cross at the traffic lights opposite the Omni Centre and continue walking down the hill, past the Playhouse theatre. At the junction turn right onto London Road (Regent Place). Keep walking till the 3rd set of traffic lights. Cross here and walk down the hill, this is Easter Road. The apartment is on the right hand side (nr. 142) Walking time = 15 to 20 minutes
b. Exit onto Princes street. Cross the road and take the number 1 bus. Exit at the first stop on Easter Road (ask the driver). The apartment is on the right hand side (nr. 142) Cost = £1.30 per person. (N.B. No change is given)
c. Exit onto Waverly Bridge. Take a taxi. Cost = £5. Time = 5 minutes.
From Edinburgh Airport
From Edinburgh Airport you have 4 options.
1. Take a taxi direct to the apartment.
Cost = £25 (approximately)
Time = 25 - 40 minutes
2. Take the Edinburgh Shuttle (brown/yellow mini bus) direct to the apartment.
Cost = £10 per person single
Time = 25 - 40 minutes
3. Take the airport bus to Waverly Bridge (end of the line)

Time = 25 minutes
Then, from Waverly Bridge:
