South Byre is part of Salutation Yard; a complex of traditional Cumbrian farm buildings, tucked away from the road, private, peaceful and newly developed to provide three secluded holiday lets. Salutation Yard is in Skelton, a traditional Eden Valley village in north Cumbria, 4.6 miles from junction 41 of the M6. You may choose to stay and simply retreat for a while, enjoying the warmth and comfort of the accommodation and taking advantage of all the immediate area has to offer: lovely doorstep walks, superb cycling and a friendly pub serving food. Or you might use it as a base from which to explore the nearby Lake District; the shore of Lake Ullswater is just 10.5 miles away and Keswick is 16 miles.
South Byre was a cow byre and is now a single storey holiday home for four people. There is one parking space allocated to the property and a small patio area, open to the communal yard, with table and chairs.
The front door leads directly in to the open plan kitchen/dining/living area where the high ceiling and huge oak roof trusses form an attractive feature.
The kitchen area is fitted with a sink, wall and floor units with worktop and is supplemented by a freestanding kitchen trolley.
It has an integrated electric oven and hob with extractor hood over, integrated slim dishwasher; matching freestanding under counter fridge and freezer,a washer/dryer and a microwave oven.
The dining area comprises of a table and chairs for four.
The living area is furnished with a settee, armchair and foot stool, providing comfy seating for four arranged around a recessed electric flame/log effect fire. The foot stool has a hinged lid and stores a selection of board games, there are also two side tables. There is a wall mounted TV/DVD and CD/radio/I pod dock.
A cupboard contains laundry and cleaning items.
A door leads into an inner hallway with coat hooks and from here there are doors into the bedrooms and bathrooms.
The master bedroom is furnished with a double bed, bedside tables, 2 single wardrobes, a dressing table with mirror, stool and drawers and a further chest of drawers.
There is a TV, clock radio and hairdryer.
The spacious shower room has a toilet, basin with shaver point/light, wall cabinet and a huge walk in shower enclosure (1700 mm wide).
The second bedroom has zip and link beds with the option of having 3ft twin beds or a superking bed; a bedside chest, a larger chest of drawers that serves as a dressing table (with mirror and stool) and a wardrobe with integral drawers.There is a small supplementary curtained hanging/storage space.
A TV, clock radio and hairdryer are provided.

A perfect weekend!
My family and I spent a wonderful weekend in the South Byre and it exceeded all our expectations by miles - every last detail was catered for, including provision of a travel cot and high-chair for our one year old, and a bread maker and bread mix so that we could wake up to fresh bread the following morning. Everything looked brand new, sparkling clean, and immaculately decorated, and the location was very peaceful and beautiful. I loved the original artwork from local artists. We will definitely come again. Many thanks Jane for a fabulous weekend!
