We have owned La Tuilliere since 1986 and in the past 2 years it has benefitted from major renovations. New roof on the main house and barn, some major structural changes, upgraded bathrooms, total redecoration, new electrics, instant hot water on tap and new fully fitted carpets in all the bedrooms. This year we have also totally rebuilt a state of the art pool. 14 x 6 metres, salt pool, heated and with an electric security cover. D end with a 2 metre paddling area or cool down with your sundowners!
There is also a separate Pool Apartment with brand new ensuite facilities, Italian shower, loo, kitchenette and sofa bed. This could be bedroom 7 if not used as the pool loo and changing area.
The Barn is our games room which houses a professional table tennis table and an assortment of 8 bictycles.
On the West side of the house we have a floodlit Boules pitch.
More home than holiday house, La Tuilliere's guests will enjoy 5 star treatment. Really good beds with toppers and duvets and all with brand new 100% Egyptian Cotton sheets and duvet covers.
We have also invested in Westminster Woven furniture. A new dining set seating 10 people on the front terrace will further enhance those sundowners and long evening meals.
Nothing is too much trouble and if there is anything you want, we will provide it or arrange for it to be provided.
Private dining & daily maid service (by arrangement), hot air balloon right from our front door or use of our cabriolet - nothing is impossible.
We let the property Friday to Friday and would ask our guests to depart by 10 am and arrive after 3pm.
La Tuilliere is a non smoking house.

1) Golf at Chateau des Vigiers just 8 kms from the house. 27 holes and stunning environment. Known as 'Petite Versailles'. Great golf course and also has tennis courts, spa and two restaurants. Not restricted to golfers or members. Your host is an International Member - let me know if you intend to play golf. 2) The Pool is 12m x 6m. 1m at the shallow end increasing to 2m at the deep end. We have a pool alarm which is a legal requirement in France. (It is fully maintained and cleaned.) 3) There is a floodlit Boules pitch under the shade of three Mulberry trees. There are two sets of boules in the 'Pool Room'. 4) There is a brand new professional Table Tennis Table in the Pool Room with a selection of bats and balls. 5) Tennis 2 kms in St Jean de Duras or Chateau des Vigiers. There are 4,000 petit chateau in the region! 8) The beauty of the Dordogne valley is a must to visit, if only once, before you retreat to the peace and tranquility of La Tuilliere. 9) Hot air balloon right from the house for that trip of a lifetime. One of our neighbours is a fully qualified pilot and he will bring the balloon right to the house for a spectacular ascent. 10) Enjoy what is the referred to as the gastronomic centre of France, duck, foie gras and just amazing fruit and vegetable. If Heineken made wine they'd probably be in Bordeaux. Undoubtedly the best wine in the world. There are spectacular markets on most days in different bastide towns within 20kms of La Tuilliere and we currently recommend 31 restaurants in our guest book, ranging from a 2* Michelin in St Emilion to really good family restaurants charging as little as €11.50 for a 5 course dinner including wine. 11) If you want to be catered for, our super chef Sarah Dubuis will organise everything for you. Sarah will discuss menus, shop, prepare, cook either home or away and serve. 12) Alternatively just soak up the total peace and tranquility La Tuilliere offers. No cars, no noise and no aircraft.

If you are driving from Calais, allow 8 hours plus stops. It is a relatively easy drive, all motorway apart from the last 45 minutes.
If you are flying, British Airways and EasyJet have daily scheduled flights to Bordeaux.
However, if you can live with Ryanair, they do direct 75 minutes flights into Bergerac which is just 25 minutes from the house. Ryan also fly from Bristol and Liverpool direct. Book early and there are many tax free flights. Flybe also fly out of Southampton, Gatwick and Exeter direct to Bergerac. They are more expensive than Ryan but a much nicer experience.

We can also arrange private taxis to and from the airports to La Tuilliere.

A French Paradise
What a fantastic two weeks holiday we spent at La Tuilliere in June this year. Beautiful house, stunning location and gastronomic delights a-plenty, wine from the vineyards in the garden which we sipped whilst watching the sun go down. Thank you Mike and Julia for letting us experience your beautiful french retreat - when can we come again?!
Visitor Book & Hot Air Balloon
Visitors Book. We have a unique visitors book dating back to 1987 when we first bought the house. We invite you to leave your comments which will only be including in the book along with subsequent 'team' photographs. i.e. It is a photo visitors book.
Hot Air Balloon. Our neighbour Mon Chateau will bring his hot air balloon to La Tuilliere and you'll take off from our garden for a one and half trip of a lifetime
Best holiday we've ever had!
2 weeks in paradise with magnificent views, total tranquility, 360 degree sun, hot hot days and perfect nights. We invited friends and family to join us and La Tuilliere was perfect. Great restaurants and still good value despite the GBP/Euros. 4 course Michelin quality in top local restaurant still just 25 Euros. The Hot Air Balloon from the front lawn was amazing! Definitely will be back again.
Family celebration in rural comfort
We took 3 generations of the family , and nearly 4 with one being very pregnant, to celebrate a special occasion and had a most enjoyable and comfortable week. The house is in a really peaceful setting and well equipped with lots to do if reading a book begins to pall. Highly recommended and it fitted eleven adults splendidly.
