There are no facilities there only smiling, curious faces. Esentepe village, approximately 8 minutes drive away, has the nearest mini-mart. Here you can find bars, restaurants and live music. There are other bars and restaurants close by along the coast, either rustic or more sophisticated. Directions:
This is one of the most beautiful parts of the Mediterranean which has remained one of the least spoilt by mass tourism. The people of this region are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Kyrenia is an historic town built around a charming harbour, overlooked by a crusader castle. The harbour offers a wide variety of restaurants, some with rooftop views and at night, when the lights are lit, there is no more wonderful place to eat. During the day Roman ruins and Norman castles await exploration. The 200 miles of Northern coastline offers beautiful beaches, hidden coves and turquoise waters, for swimming, sunbathing, snorkelling and sailing. Dramatic mountains provide the backdrop to olive groves and carob orchards, goats roam freely and the smells of wild herbs and Cypress trees intoxicate. The island has a wonderful climate, long hot summers and relatively warm winters. Our villa is part of a small group of houses on the Eastern coastal road, about 35 minutes from Kyrenia.

This holiday was a special holiday where my husband and I took our respective mothers on a greatly needed break.
Wow! What a beautiful home! Such a beautiful place and the sea......I can only say I have never experienced anything quite like it! Wonderful!
Our mothers were over the moon and my husband and I want to return, so much! Just wish we had booked 2 weeks instead of 1!
Villa Lalai is a beautifully presented Villa with all the required facilities and extremely well equipped to make your holiday a leisurely and pleasant one. It's pool is large and makes a lovely retreat from the heat of the sun. The surrounding views over the mountains is stunning and at the right time of the year full of wildlife.
The Villa was a little difficult to find especially if you have not experienced Cypriot roads and cut offs but Carol Overs neighbour, Mike, to which Carol will refer, is a great help. He has knowledge of the workings of the Villa and the surrounding area.
It is a Villa for families and couples who wish to get away from the hustle and bustle of town or city life. There are small amenities within the surrounding villages and these are full of very friendly and always smiling faces. Kyrenia is a little way out but easily reached as are most of the ancient and interesting attractions. North Cypriot roads are empty and a pleasure to drive. Some are tracks but it makes for an exiting time.
A great place to unwind.
Regards to Carol. Ian Dudding of Stratford Upon Avon.
We spent 16 days at Villia Lalai in the hot summer sun. The facilities were wonderful and it was beautifully quiet. The dragonflies accompanied us to the pool each day and became part of the family. The villa was a great place to use as a bse to explore, with Kyrenia just 45 minutes away. The local beaches were beautiful and the sea was clear and warm. We loved going to the local restaurants and everyone was so friendly, including the neighbours. You really need a car to explore and we had one arranged by Carol, who was fantastic evry step of the way, from initial contact to when we arrived home. The weather was very hot and we could not explore as much as we would have liked, so we will return when it is cooler..one day soon.
We have two teenage daughters and they loved it, we used the BBQ regularly for laid back meals by the pool in the evening and played cards and even taught our daughters backgammon.
It is an idyllic location with fantastic views, I would recommend it to families and couples alike.
A perfect place for a chilled out week gazing out at the peaceful mountain views. Spacious, comfortable and well equipped, Villa Lalai was a joy. Extracting the kids (& Dad!) from of the lovely pool was the biggest problem we encountered. Car hire essentail, but it is well located to explore the Karpas, Famagusta and eastern parts of the island as well as within easy hitting distance of Nicosia and Kyrenia...and being reasonably priced, good value for money in the peak season..
