Braeside is beautifully situated on the hillside above Craighouse, the main village on Jura situated at the South end of Small Isles Bay. It is quiet and secluded with superb views of the sea and mountains, yet only fifty yards from the island’s main amenities - the shop & post office,the hotel (with public and lounge bars and restaurant) and is even closer to the recently refurbished Antlers Bistro.
The stone jetty in Craighouse is also the arrival point of the passenger ferry from Tayvallich which runs during the summer months, making Braeside the ideal location for those who do not wish to bring a car to Jura. (Cycles can be carried on the ferry or hired on Jura!)
The property offers the following accommodation : Large lounge which occupies the full width of the house. This gives panoramic views of the sea at the front and the hills at the rear. The room, which enjoys both morning and evening sunshine, is well equipped with electric heating providing a comfortable and welcoming environment. Birds are encouraged to visit the feeders near the front window and a supply of grain is provided! Amenities include : colour television, video recorder, CD player / tape radio with selection of (mainly classical) CD’s. Kitchen with electric cooker, automatic washing machine, electric frying pan, fridge / freezer, microwave cooker, slow cooker, electric kettle, toaster, pour-on coffee maker, coffee grinder, ample cooking utensils, china and cutlery. Bathroom with electric shower unit over bath; immersion heater. One double, one twin and one single bedroom - they are all well equipped with new beds and attractive furnishings. All with ‘downies’ and electric heaters.

The house is open each year from Easter until mid September. There is also a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival! Jura is remote and 'off the beaten track' making life on the island extremely relaxing and stress free - yet transport links, by ferry or plane via Islay are very good.
Rates : From £270 to £320 per week depending on season.
Maximum of 5 people. Well behaved dogs and children are welcome by prior arrangement. Guests are requested not to smoke in the house.
