This really is holidaying in style and comfort!.
The Isle of Wight is the most southerly park of the UK & is warmer. The south of the Island has its own 'micro-climate' where palm trees & wall lizards are seen in the summer. A trip there one day?
Gurnard & world-famous Cowes are close. Boat racing starts typically there. Osborne House is a chain-link ferry ride away (a tourist attraction also). A few more idea's - Indvidual shops (The Island has its own croc shoe shop in Shanklin).
You don't have to go off the park as there is plenty to see and do! But a visit to pretty Gurnard, renowned Cowes for its great shops and traditional pubs is well worth a visit! Then why not take a short drive to the centre of the island to the main town Newport where you will find some great shops, supermarkets and even a farmers market on Tuesdays! How about hopping on a bus or bike for local trips and sight seeing! The Island has been a tourist attraction for years, so there are numerous ways to have a fantastic holiday. We loved it that much we moved to live here in 2002. If you like history Dinosaur remains are featured at two mini-museum locations. Architectural & yachting are popular reasons for an Island visit. By car, you can be almost anywhere within 35 minutes!
Historic Yarmouth is also well worth a visit with its famous Old Gaffers week in the summer, boutiques shops and cosy cafes and local pubs with local home cooked produce! You will even find it has its own castle.
From Yarmouth you can drive or hop on the open top bus and visit the needles, the kids will love the chair lift down the cliff edge where you will see the famous coloured sands, when you reach the bottom of the cliff you can take a ride on a boat around the needles! Lots of fun to be had.
