This traditional Irish country cottage, hidden on the beautiful causeway coast close to the Giants Causeway, Bushmills Distillery, Royal Portrush Golf Club and the Carrick a Rede rope bridge. Secluded and close to miles of beautiful National Trust.
With this property, guests may do sea fishing trips where the Irish Sea and the Atlantic meet and offers great fun days and fresh water salmon fishing on the Bush river which are available by arrangement. Guests may also visit Rathlin island to see one of the most important sea bird nesting areas in western Europe.
Rent fast sea going RIBS in Ballycastle to tour this magnificent coastline and see the Giants Causeway from the sea, these are other things that guests may do around the area. They may also visit Robert the Bruce's cave on Rathlin in which the choices are endless.
From the base in Ballintoy self catering will be a pleasure, fresh fish off the small boats fishing as these waters and good resturants in abundance. There are fine wines available which may be ordered in advance and be ready for the guests when they arrive at this self catering cottage.
For golf lovers, Ballintoy is located between the world renowned Royal Portrush and Ballycastle Golf Club. The beautiful Bushfoot Golf Club is a few minutes drive with all three clubs boast North Atlantic beach fronts. There are some seven Golf Clubs in the area as well.
The Causeway coast is rich with natural beauty and good places to eat. Only a few minutes away from the traditional Irish cottage are wonders such as the Giants Causeway, Whitepark Bay, Torr Head, Rathlin Island, The White Rocks Portrush and the Bush river that feeds the famous Busmills Irish Whisky Distillery.
There are also great resturants and traditional pub fare helps to replace the calories lost on the beautiful coast walks. The National Trust has protected many miles of beautiful walks along beaches that join cliff tops to headlands from where guests can watch the flow and ebb of the great tides that sweep in an out of the Irish sea from the North Atlantic.
Fishing is rich as is the sea bird life on Rathlin, reached by regular daily ferry crossings or with fast RIBs that offer tours of the area. Some of Ireland's most famous golf clubs such as The Royal Portrush are only a few minutes away from your base in Ballintoy. To the south the majestic 7 Glens of Antrim are only half an hour away.
