Casa Colina is a large detached residence built to a high standard twenty five years ago. It is situated on El Mojonera, which is at the boundary of Isla Plana, providing a spectacular view of the Mazarron Bay.
To relax on the balcony in the late evening with the pool and terrace lights on, seeing the distance lights of nearby Puerto Mazarron, is an unforgettable experience. Likewise, on a sunny afternoon with sun blinds extended slightly to provide some welcome shade, guests would not wish to be anywhere else in the world.
There is much to see within a 25-mile radius, so a car is essential. The bigger towns of Puerto Mazarron and Mazarron are 6 miles away. An 18-hole golf course at Camposol is 15 miles away. The largest town in the area is Cartagena 15 miles.
The highest mountain, Sierra de Espuna, is near Totana and Alhama (25-30 miles away). The busy capital city of Murcia is 40 mile ride away. It is accessible via train from Cartagena. The main roads in Spain are superb and tourists can easily visit several attractions that are hundreds of miles away and return the same day.
Isla Plana is a small village with several fine beaches and shops selling almost anything. There are also nice bars and restaurants. The locals are friendly and helpful. Although over the past few years a great deal of residential development has taken place, it has not spoilt the area and the village remains very much the same as it was years ago.
The locals, including the youngsters, enjoy the evenings, preferably after 9 pm. Every Saturday and Sunday, they flock to the restaurants and bars and have fun until late afternoon.
Guests should get to walk through La Rambla (just passed the Madriles camp site) and venture to the mountain. Motorists should proceed further toward San Gines and Azohia and take the next turn on the right for for an exciting experience driving up the mountain. for the spectacular views from the deserted army post. The mountain has a large mast on it so it is easy to find.
