Experience true Spanish background in this charming and very serene, detached cottage just outside the village of Fuente del Conde. Situated amongst rolling olive and almond groves, this chalet has unending sight of the valley towards the lake at Iznajar.

With its modern appliances and fixtures, the cottage’s original rustic features still remain. This property has been carefully and stylishly renovated to give a unique and truly lovely place to holiday. Perfectly located in the heart of rural Andalucia, the cottage is a convenient and an easy drive from both Granada and Malaga airports.

Inside, the cottage is furnished and equipped to the highest standards, including antique Spanish furniture and original artworks, offering comfort, convenience. The chic and extremely comfortable living room is made up of original stone floor. The two warm bedrooms are both decorated with style. Outside, a mature grape vine shades the sunny terrace and in season guests can pick fresh figs, pomegranates and almonds from the trees in the garden. For those colder months, there is a wood burning stove/radiators.

With several local walks, the landscape offers fantastic bird watching, photographic, writing and painting opportunities. Or simply chill out with a cold beer and a good book from the cottage library. Within a short and pleasant walk is the picturesque and unspoiled village of Fuente del Conde with its own small but well stocked supermarket and great bar/restuarant 'los pajaritos' serving the best tapas and chilled beer in the area. Pretty and historic Iznajar town with its lake and sandy beach is 10 minutes drive away and has all the day to day amenities including museum, banks, churches, cafes, library, bakers, butchers, fishmongers and great places to eat. This is rural Andalucia at its best!

In addition, the cottage is ideally located for reaching the great Andalucian cultural cities of Granada, Malaga, Ronda, Cordoba and Seville.

The locale has a wealth of real Spanish culture and tradition waiting to be explored. The landscape is unrivalled, at any time of the year. For everyday supplies, there is a well stocked supermarket and bakery in Fuente del Conde and a great bar/restaurant serving what we think is the best tapas in the area. Iznajar town has the convenience of banks, supermarkets, chemists, fish mongers, hardware stores and hospital. In addition there is a lovely castle, local history museum and library. Restaurants and road side 'ventas' offer simple well cooked and traditional Spanish food and there are a couple of excellent places to eat within a 5 min drive.

No visit to Andalucia would be complete without a visit [or two!] to its famous cultural cities and these are all within easy reach. More locally there is the pretty town of Priego de Cordoba, which boasts more than its fair share of Baroque churches and Antequera, with its stunning architecture, bullring and great shops. Alternatively, get away from it all completely and visit El Torcal a uniquely ancient limestone plateau north of Antequera, for stunning walks, wild life and bird watching. The wildlife and sunsets are fabulous!

There is a sandy manmade beach on the lake at Iznajar just 10mins drive away with lovely bar/and the nearest coast line is towards Malaga which is 1hr drive away. Here there are superb beaches, restaurants and shopping areas.
