Our week in Claviers
Review Submitted: June 23, 2011 Date of Stay: June 2011
We've just had a lovely week (wishing it was two!) at the villa which is clean, well furnished and equipped. We were a group of five adults and there is plenty of room for everyone to get together as well as areas to escape to for quiet space if you want a bit of "me" time. The outdoor kitchen area is great and we enjoyed cooking on the barbeque and experimenting with the bread oven!
Claviers is a lovely little place within easy walking distance from the villa. We enjoyed a couple of evening meals in the local cafe/bar where they were very welcoming. We also enjoyed visiting some of the other small villages close by which are very picturesque. Be prepared for lots of winding/bendy roads though!
We visited Monaco and St Tropez too which are within reasonable traveling distance for a day out.
We received great service from the property owners who were very prompt and helpful throughout the the whole process. They provided plenty of local information for us before we left which was much appreciated.
We would highly recommend the villa to our family and friends and would certainly be happy to return there ourselves.
Hiden heaven!

Lovely Villa in calm southern france with easy access to and from nice/cannes via car. Brilliant place for large parties looking to do big dinner parties and cook with a fantastic BBQ and the pizza oven! Very clean house and very well maintained! Already looking to go back!
Absolutely Gorgeous!

I spent a long weekend with four girlfriends at Villa De Passe & we had an amazing time.
The location is quiet & therefore provides the most tranquil of settings for a truly relaxing break. We were blown away by the breath-taking view every time we took breakfast on the outside terrace & again as we enjoyed our evening meal al-fresco using the outside kitchen facilities.
We did however enjoy time visiting the coast which was only about an hour's drive, taking in the fabulous atmosphere of Cannes & Monaco. We felt that we had the best of both worlds, with the bustle of the popular resorts and the retreat back to Claviers' peace & quiet.
We did eat in Oliviers, one of the restaurants in Claviers which we were able to walk to, which was absolutely fabulous & fully recommended.
The villa was perfect, with everything you could possibly need & spotlessly clean. It was truly a home from home & has clearly been refurbished with much affection.
The surrounding villages were a delight to visit & we just wished we'd had longer to explore.
Finally, I must add that the owners were more than helpful, very friendly & happy to offer advice & recommend places to go, as it was out first trip to this area.
All in all, we loved it! and we will definitely be booking again.
Perfect Summer 2010

Very nice place, very-very quiet, beautiful view to the hills with only forest, perfect pool even for little children. What have to be mentioned as not disadvantage, but as a local peculiarity, for people never been in Provence its the distances to the supermarket, beach, motorway. On the map it is not so far, but when driving these very much elbowed roads, it takes you much more time then you expected. To supermarket at Montauroux is around 20 km, but it will take 40 min. Same 40 min to A8 motorway and around 60 min to the beach at Frejus.
For the rest it is a very good choice - we were 11 people, 6 adults and 5 kids, there were space for all. Outside kitchen is very good, table big enough for all. Also Claviers is very charming little town with 10 min by feet.

We have just returned from a wonderful two weeks in Villa La Passe, in lovely Claviers. This was our first time in Provence, and the villa, location and weather surpassed all our expectations.
Our mixed family group found plenty to do, although the quality of the villa and it's facilities meant that we were also very happy to relax and enjoy time on site.
The villa is beautifully furnished and well-equipped, and was spotlessly clean. The outdoor areas are thoughtfully furnished, so that there is somewhere nice to be at all times of the day. The views from the terrace are lovely, and the images will stay with us over the winter to come!
Magnifique!
We stayed here for two weeks in May 2010 with our young daughter Evie (aged 3) and both sets of our parents (pensioners) - seven people in all. The villa is extremely spacious and very comfortable with a fabulous swimming pool and external kitchen where we spent a lot of time. The location is ideal for days out to St Tropez and Cannes, and the local village is very rural, with a truly magical restaurant, Oliviers, in the centre, where we spent several evenings.
The villa was spotlessly clean and we would not hesitate in recommending it to friends and family.
We all had a wonderful time, so much so that we are planning our return trip next year!
Wonderful
We stayed in Claviers villa one week during new year's day's holidays. There were 9 of us in the party (8 adults + 1 boy 13-years old). Everyone loved the villa !!!. The villa is really wonderful and well kept. It's sorrounded by a wonderful olive tree grove, and so we can imagine how beautiful it could be from april/may till september/october, expecially havin' dinner in the porch facing the swimming-pool and the olive-tree. It's 10 minutes walk from the charming village of Claviers; the villa is actually a little isolated, a little far from a big town, but we considered this an advantage and not a problem, because it was really relaxing for everyone and we could enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the place! So we strongly recommend it to everyone. The owner, mr. Dave, has been very kind with us in every moment and really helpul. We hope to have the chance of staying in the villa in a forthcoming future!
Our Second Stay
Review Submitted: April 21, 2010 Date of Stay: December 2009
As a rule I never return to the same place twice. We had time to spare in December and the owners let us stay out of season.
The house has been redecorated and the garage converted into another bedroom since our last visit.
Although cold in the evenings the log fire was wonderful. We still cooked outside.
I cannot recommend this villa highly enough.
A Relaxing Holiday

Myself and 7 friends stayed in this villa. It is even better than it looks in the pictures.
The property is tastefully decorated, and situated in an idyllic location.
Even though there were 8 of us, the villa is spacious enough that you do not feel at all crowded. The beds were comfortable, and the ensuite in every room was a wonderful bonus!
We were able to commute easily to Cannes, Nice, Monaco and St Tropez.
Perfect Villa

We stayed at this beautiful villa in May after a glowing recommendation from a friend. Altogether there were 4 adults and 4 children in our party. It is set in the most idyllic setting, ideal for a relaxing, chilled out holiday. The weather was fantastic, which enabled us to make use of the lovely pool and sunbathing area. For those who prefer a little shade, the covered terrace is perfect - especially with the fantastic view.
The villa has a very homely feel and has been very tastefully decorated. It is obvious a lot of love and care has been taken in it's renovation.
The surrounding villages and countryside are beautiful and we were close enough to visit Nice, Cannes & Monaco.
Nice Relaxing Holidays

We spent a very nice week in Claviers.
The house is very confortable and the swimming pool very relaxing.
What is great also is the terrace with the real wood stove!
The house is perfect if you are with children and safe.
The place is peacefull and relaxing.
Wonderful relaxing time in idyllic location

We've just returned from a fantastic week in the villa with 4 adults and 4 children.
We had high expectations for the villa and surrounding location, and it exceeded them! The views are wonderful across the forested hills and the setting is very peaceful - no sound except for the crickets at night.
The pool is a really good size and perfect for swimming, playing in and lounging around. We loved the outdoor kitchen as it was always cool and shady, as were the well-thought-out seating areas on the terraces. It was great to have the bbq, sink, fridge etc outside as it allowed real al-fresco living!
The villa is lovely inside - all the bedrooms were a good size, and well set-apart from each other, with their own bathrooms. They were also cool, even in the heat of the day (we hardly had to use the air conditioning).
Claviers itself is a beautiful little village and we enjoyed the meals we had there in the square. The market on a Saturday is great too.
The owners were very accommodating and helpful - which made the whole booking process a pleasure.
We would definitely return!
A magical time in Claviers

We spent a fantastic couple of weeks in the villa during the summer of 2008. In total there were 9 of us, a mixture of adults & kids. There was plenty of space indoors for us all to relax & sleep.
The villa is fabulous. Very tastefully decorated, lovely pool for the kids to play and adults to chill, fantastic views, in an absloutely idyllic location. A short walk from the village with it's fantastic restaraunts and friendly locals.
A great base from which to explore the region, having your own or a hire car is essential.
We'll definitely be going back. In fact, we didn't want to leave

About 50 minutes from Nice Airport. We rented this property shortly after it had been refurbished. We had a wonderful time.
A short 5/10 minute walk from the village of Claviers with it's bakery, wine store, 2 restaurants and great "pub".
It was quiet and relaxing. The villa is perfect for families. We took our 3 daughters and one of their friends.
You do need car hire to visit surrounding villages.
A wonderful area for wine tasting.
I would recommend this property. In fact, we have spoken with the owners to plan a future visit again
Easy Summer Living!

The best recommendation I can give this property is to say that we're currently hoping to book our third visit!
Villa La Passe provides comfortable, clean, easy living a pleasant walk from the village (and boulangerie). On our visits to the area we have eaten well in Claviers, Callas, Bargemon, Seillans and Fayence though it is sometimes difficult to tear ourselves away from the villa and its various terraces around the pool. There is a small food-based market in Claviers and a larger, more general one in Callas - both on Saturdays - and plenty of vineyards around. (The nearest we found, five minutes down the road, is run by the [grown up!] small boy from The Red Balloon film.) However it does make sense to stock up at a larger supermarket en route, as once you've arrived in Claviers, you don't really want to leave again in a hurry! When driving from the UK, the route is via le Muy, a half-hour drive away, where there is a good supermarket (and also a large Sunday Provencal market.)
It is definitely worth going to the Gorges du Verdon - amazing scenery, although in the summer heat any walking (route books of circular walks available locally) needs to be started early in the morning.
