Résidence Barrats B is situated away from the main roads in quiet surroundings on Chemin de la Larze, to the south-west of Chamonix town centre. It is 750 metres from the main shopping street, Rue Docteur Paccard (10 minutes by foot) and a five minutes' walk to the Place Balmat, the town square, but many amenities are in the immediate vicinity. The nearest supermarket (main season only) is in the square in Chamonix Sud (500 metres away). There are several bars within a short walk, including the Jekyll, Munster and Monkey with restaurants including the Jekyll again, l'Impossible and several along Avenue de l'Aiguille du Midi.

For access to the slopes, the apartment is conveniently located 200 metres from the main bus stop. The nearest ski area is Brévent, 2 minutes by bus. Barrats is also no more than 3 minutes' walk to the Aiguille du Midi cable car, giving access to the infamous Vallée Blanche.

Chamonix has one of the most beautiful golf courses in the Alps, surrounded as it is by famous peaks such as the Aiguille du Midi, les Drus, la Verte and of course, Mont Blanc itself. The 18 hole Trent Jones Senior course is only 5 minutes drive from the centre of town, just outside the village of Les Praz, and is open from May until November. There are several other courses in close proximity to Chamonix, which makes it an excellent place to arrange a golf tour with a difference, including Evian, Bossey, Esery, Megeve, les Gets and Annecy.

The apartment is fully equipped with Wifi Internet Access, flat screen TV with Sky (Freeview), CD player, washing machine and dishwasher. There is private external parking and a large ski/bike cellar on the lower ground floor. It would suit up to 6 people looking to stay close to the town centre yet in more peaceful surroundings.
