Chamonix is probably best known as the skiing and alpine capital of the world. As a destination it has a reputation for the extreme and this, whilst undoubtedly true can mask a wide array of sporting and leisure activities, peace and quiet, great nightlife and superb scenery that can be enjoyed at whichever pace suits you. Chamonix is the perfect place to come for a weekend break or a week holiday. Chamonix is at the foot of Mt Blanc and offers sports like extreme skiing, climbing, high mountain hiking and mountain biking. This busy alpine village is extremely popular in the winter and summer seasons with tourists clambering for a glimpse of Mont Blanc. Chamonix town has all the facilities of a town; with a great variety of shops, restaurants and bars, cinema, museums, sports centre, ice-skating, tennis, squash, swimming pools and a very good 18 hole golf course. There are fabulous walking and running trails all over the valley, some are world famous and every year Chamonix hosts the ultimate 'Ultra Trail' covering over 154km in August. For hikers this trail is known as Le Tour du Mont Blanc (5+ day walking trip). The climbing is spectacular with the highlight being the annual Climbing World Championships in July. Mountain biking is very popular for both cross-country and down-hill disciplines and the golf course in Chamonix is of a very high standard with excellent facilities. During the summer the alpine rivers swell from the mountain snow and the white water activities really come into their own. SKIING: The skiing in the Chamonix Valley is spread over 5 separate areas which are linked by a regular and efficient bus service included in the lift pass. At the base of the Valley is Les Houches. From the Chamonix centre Le Brévent which is linked to La Flégère. Up the Valley is Les Grands Montets in Argentière and finally Le Tour. Chamonix provides skiing for all abilities with nursery slopes at Les Planards, Les Chosalets as well as great ski schools at all the ski resorts. However, Chamonix is ideal for the intermediate and advanced skier. The intermediate runs boast excellent groomed pistes, trails and mogul fields. For the expert skier there is limitless off piste skiing and some of the steepest and most challenging runs in the Alps including the awe-inspiring 22km ski down the Vallée Blanche on the Mer de Glace with a mountain guide.

Guests will be met at the property and to receive a Welcome Pack.
Our recommendation is that you fly to Geneva airport it is only 50 miles to Chamonix and takes little more than an hour. You may choose to hire a car or arrange a transfer.
We are partnered with the best and most reliable transfer companies in Chamonix and are very happy to help arrange transfers directly from the airport to the apartment for you.
You may choose to travel by train or public bus from the airport although these means do not save you much money, the journey takes much longer and you still have to find your own way to the property once you reach Chamonix.
If you are driving, then from Calais the journey is around 550 miles and with minimal breaks the good motorways will see you in Chamonix in around 9 hours.
A representative of Chamserve will be available in Chamonix to answer any questions you may have regarding the accommodation, the resort, where to eat, etc. Also they will help you with any unfortunate emergencies that may arise personally or with your accommodation.
We are also able to help you pre-order and purchase ski lift passes, equipment hire, lessons and guides as well as arrange transfers for you.
On arrival you can choose from a "luxury" hamper to a "bare essentials". If you arrive late and want milk, bread etc on hand, again we can ensure this is in place when you arrive.
My friends and I had a great holiday here
My friends and I stayed in Chalet Cascade for a week in the summer. We came to Chamonix for a downhill moutain bike holiday and it was a great place to stay. There was enough space for our bikes in the hallway which was handy. The location was great as it only took 5 mins to get to the bars and restaurants. The mountain biking was excellent! We will be coming back next year.
