Llots of walking on the doorstep, the Mediterranean sea and beaches - in France and Costa Brava in Spain, lakes, rivers, mountains, ski slopes (in winter), windsurfing, hot springs, thermal stations, historic buildings, museums, art galleries, medieval areas, good food, wine tasting, seasonal local ‘fêtes’, tranquility, activity, horse riding, Spain, aqualand; It's all there! Céret is very nearby. It is an old ‘arty’ small town full of character and known as the cherry capital. It has several cafés, bars, music, shops, hotels, banks, supermarkets, museums, art and craft exhibitions and a tourist information. The climate is renowned for blue skies and good weather all year round, 300 days of sun a year, varying from 30 C in summer to 10 C in winter.

The house is a stone built, 3 storey fully furnished and equipped terraced ‘maison du village’ in the heart of the village. The front looks out onto the Alberes mountains. The cosy and quirky house sleeps 8. It has a cassette/radio/CD player, cot, moses basket, piano, high chair, lots of brochures, an information book and a washing machine at 3 euros per wash. No TV and no phone! Access is easy by train to Perpignan or with direct flights from Gatwick/Stansted to Gerona/Perpignan. Also flights to Montpellier & Toulouse in France, or Gerona & Barcelona in Spain. Car hire is easy to arrange to collect from the airport, and is recommended for ease of access. Buses do run to Maureillas 4 x pd but this could be limiting. Very accessible by road. The beautiful lake of St Jean is at 4 kms.

There are a number of sandy beaches to chose from! From the French La Cote Vermeille (Argeles, Collioure) to the Costa Brava in Spain (Cadaques, Llanca, Roses). Distances range from 20 minutes to 1 hour by car. The lake of St Jean is 4 kms from the house. The lake is surrounded by grass, has large trees for shade, is suitable for swimming and has a cafe. There are also a number of activities available.

There is an outside terrace accessed from the lounge.

There is a beautiful lake nearby at 4 kms suitable for swimming which also has tree tops assault course, zip wire, pedalos and trampolining. There are 2 swimming pools at 4 kms in Ceret and Le Boulou, + a swimming pool in a campsite nearby the house. ... read more »hide »

Please ensure:
The house is left tidy and secure.
You bring own sheets, pillow cases, towels and tea towels (pillows + blankets supplied).
You replace the basic food and cleaning materials ‘float’ (i.e. toilet paper, coffee, tea, pasta etc).
The empty cooker gas bottle is replaced with a full one as and when it runs out, (gas bottles are widely obtainable).
Discounts for long lets.

In peak times, changeover day is generally a Saturday (although this can be flexible). Arrival after 3pm and departure at 10am to allow for cleaning. Flexible arrangements any other times.
