The house forms part of the oldest wing of Le Bagnaie, a 300 year old farm on a secluded hilltop which was converted into eight privately owned houses in 1990. All are beautifully restored in traditional rustic style with exposed beams, old terracotta floors and open fires together with the modern convenience of superb marble bathrooms and central heating. Each house has its own paved terrace, garden and the shared facility of beautiful grounds including a magnificent swimming pool, a children's pool, an all-weather tennis court and boules court. There are also outstanding views of the surrounding countryside.
Le Bagnaie is situated in the heart of Chianti, Tuscany. It is a ten minute drive from Castellina in Chianti, a beautiful, typical Tuscan village with an abundance of character and amenities. The house is very conveniently located for Siena and the world famous Palio twenty minutes drive away, San Gimigniano thirty minutes away, Florence in forty minutes, Radda, Gaiole in Chianti, Volterra and many other picturesque Tuscan places to visit. There are numerous wonderful traditional Tuscan restaurants in all the surrounding areas such as Castellina in Chianti, Siena, San Gimigniano, Colle Val D'Elsa, Volterra, Gaiole in Chianti and Radda in Chianti. The closest restaurant to Le Bagnaie is about a five minute drive. Cooks can be organized to come to the house and cook a traditional Italian menu. There are superb walks all around and several start from the house. It is a very popular area for mountain biking and these can be hired in nearby towns. The area is very child friendly with local parks.
