Description

This elegant house is surrounded by a large garden with private pool. There are 2 sitting rooms, one on the ground floor and the 2nd one on the first floor. All the rooms on the first floor have a large balcony with spectacular views of the Keurbooms River, Indian Ocean and Tsitsikama mountains. There is a dining area outside with a BBQ.

There are 2 steps that lead to the ground floor bedrooms. The shower room has a seat for those with mobility problem. Access to the front and back garden is all in one level.

There is a small back garden with alfresco eating area. This has easy access to the kitchen and family room. The front garden has a covered veranda with sofas, chairs and tables and BBQ. This area overlooks the heated private pool ( 30' x 14'). Around the pool are chaise longs and deck chairs.

There are 2 very good beaches about 1-2km away from the house, ideal for sailing, water sports and spotting whales and dolphins. Keurboomstrand is about 5km away.

The Plettenberg Bay has 2 golf courses: the Plettenberg Bay Country Club (2km away) is rated no. 29, while the Goose Valley lies closer (1 km). In Knysna (35 km away), there are Pezula and Sparrebosch. In George, 1 hour away, there are the George Country club and Fancourt. Mosselbay is 1½ hour away, while Cape St Francis golf courses are 1½ hour drive away.

Plettenberg Bay has a small airport. This is only for private aircrafts. The nearest airports are at George (1 hour drive) and Port Elizabeth (2 hour). SA Express, Kalula and other domestic airlines operate from Johannesburg and Cape Town. All car rental firms are available at Geoge and Port Elizabeth. There are some private taxi companies operating between Plettenburg Bay and George. Most visitors hire a car.

The house is very close to all the amenities that Plettenberg Bay has to offer (0.5-1km). Plettenburg Bay is 35km away from Knysna, 100 km. away from George and about 250 km. away from Port Elizabeth.

Plettenberg Bay is a wonderful place to stay in. There is so much to do. Keurbooms River is ideal for canoeing and kayaking. There is overnight accommodation at Whiskey Creek. Walking along the Robberg nature reserve and the beach at Nature's Valley is a relaxing experience. There are overnight hiking trails at Natures Valley and Storms River. Mountain biking through the Tsitsikama and Outeniqua forest, game watching at Buffalos Hills, Knysna Elephant Park and Monkey Land and boat trips are recommended.
