In addition to the balance of payment an additional cheque in the sum of £250 (payable as above) is required by way of a security deposit, which is to cover damage and breakages. Please note that in the event that there is no damage or breakages the deposit will be returned to you after your departure.

• To allow time for the chalet to be cleaned between guests we ask that you check in after 2.00pm on the day of arrival. If the apartment is not occupied the day before your arrival it may be possible to allow an earlier check in time, please do not hesitate to ask.
Check out time is 11.00am please.
Although Saturday is our preferred changeover day, we are flexible during less busy periods to accommodate budget flights.
LOW COST EQUIPMENT HIRE & LIFT PASSES
As part of our service to provide you with a stress free holiday we can offer to help arrange low cost equipment hire and lift passes. Prices are as follows:
Board/Boots/Bindings package for 20-30 levs per day (approx £10)
Mon - Fri lift pass = full day 55 levs (approx £20)
Sat - Sun lift pass = full day 32 levs (approx £12)
Night Skiing lift pass = 16 levs (approx £6)
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Please make sure that you read this section as these are the conditions that you agree to when you book
No contract shall exist between the client or persons on whose behalf the booking form is made and Chalet UB until a signed booking form has been received with a deposit or full payment as applicable and our confirmation invoice has been issued.

All clients are subject to these conditions whether they have signed our booking form or not. We reserve the right to refuse to accept bookings in our absolute discretion, without stating the reason for doing so.

The balance of monies due must be paid 10 weeks before departure. We cannot guarantee to accept bookings that arrive after this date. Once confirmation is dispatched, your contract is made with us and the deposit is non-refundable.

We reserve the right to charge £25 per alteration, should you wish to change your original booking. Dishonoured cheques will be treated as an amendment. If we are unable to make alterations as you requested and you do not wish to continue with the booking then our cancellation charges apply.

Any booking cancellation must be made in writing without any due delay.

Clients are responsible at all times for their own personal documents, baggage and ski equipment, whether hired or not.

Your holiday starts and finishes where stated on your invoice. We are not responsible for your travel to or from this point or for any expenses, including travel accommodation, subsistence and loss of earnings, caused by delayed return to your departure point, howsoever caused.

All clients undertake not to damage their accommodation, and to abide by local regulations.

Clients are liable for the cost of any damage.

Chalet UB accepts responsibility for ensuring the holiday you book with us is as described in the brochure and the services offered reach a reasonable standard. If any part is not provided as promised, we will pay you the appropriate compensation if it has affected your enjoyment of the holiday.

We will not be held responsible for any theft or loss of personal possessions from our premises. Whilst we will endeavour to ensure the security of guests' personal possessions, we cannot guarantee it. It is up to the client to ensure that each member of the party is responsible for the safety of all their own personal possessions, documents and equipment. No responsibility or liability is or will be accepted in respect of such items. All clients should ensure their health and possessions are covered by personal travel insurance.

Chalet UB accepts no responsibility if any client suffers illness, injury or death whilst staying at Chalet UB, all clients should ensure that they have adequate travel insurance before travelling to Bulgaria.If you wish to make a complaint whilst in resort you must report it to the relevant local management agent (contact details are available in Chalet UB), thereby giving them the opportunity to remedy the problem. We cannot accept any liability whatsoever if we are not informed immediately, of any problem during your stay. Complaints not resolved completely in resort should be made in writing within 28 days of the end of the holiday. We will not accept liability for claims received after this period.

Local leisure activites	The Borovets area is a great destination for winter holidays, having an excellent snow record and all winter sport activities you would expect from a first class resort. See our section on Borovets for more detailed information. SKIING Although a beginners paradise, there are runs to suit intermediates, advanced and expert skiers. The runs are maintained to the highest international standards and have multilingual signs. The Borovets Ski School is renowned as one the best in Europe with around 200 ski instructors fluent in many different languages. SNOWBOARDING Snowboarding in Borovets is extremely popular. With an impressive snow record, the area has all types of runs from easy greens to steeper red and black runs for the more technical riders. There is a huge potential for free riding with easily accessible powder and for freestyle riders there are a few kickers and rails. SKI-DOOS Snowmobiles or ski-doos are a fun option for winter sports enthusiasts. These can be hired in Borovets and driven around the spectacular Rila Mountains. SLEDGING Sledges can be bought or hired from the shops around Borovets and this is a fun activity for young and old on the nursery slopes. NIGHT SKIING Borovets is one of the best places in Europe to enjoy Skiing and Snowboarding into the evening, when the sun goes down the floodlights come on and you can enjoy hours more fun on the slopes. The experience is not to be missed with the snow covered slopes and pine trees look magical against the night sky. It also means that you do not have to get out of bed at the crack of dawn to enjoy a full day on the slopes. NIGHTLIFE One of the big draws of Borovets in the ski season is the nightlife. Not only is the food and drink very cheap compared to most of the EU but there is a wide range of establishments to choose from. Whether it be buzzing bars and nightclubs, quiet bars overlooking the floodlit slopes, atmospheric resturants or a quick bite to eat at the side of the road, Borovets has it all!. As well as relaxing on the balconies or gardens at your chalet in the glorious summer sunshine, there are many other things to keep you entertained in Borovets in the summer. GOLF A brand new golf course is being built only 5 minutes from Chalet UB. The new course is situated in an area of stunning natural beauty down in a valley surrounded by mountain peaks, and is being designed by the son of legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus. The Ibar Golf Club & Spa will not only represent this well renowned golf brands’ first project in Bulgaria but also its first in Southeast Europe. The fact that an international brand such as Nicklaus are investing in the area re-inforces the potential and draw that this part of Bulgaria has. The Golf Club AIR SOFIA is located 50 kilometers southeast of the capital Sofia in the outskirts of the town of Ihtiman and is also only 30 minutes from Maritsa and Chalet UB. The Golf club has been in active operation since June 2000 and includes an 18 hole golf course, horse riding club, 2-lane bowling, squash hall, 2 tennis halls, outdoor swimming pool (25 x 12.5 m), indoor swimming pools, childrens playground, table tennis and bar. FLYING / SCENIC FLIGHTS Dolna Banya Airport is the first private airport in Bulgaria, fully licensed under the requirements of Civil Aviation Authority. It is situated in the upper Maritsa river valley, just 5-10 minutes from Chalet UB. The whole area is perfect for flying and what better way to view the wonderful scenery including mineral springs, rugged mountains and forest reserves. The airport offers pilot tutorials, trial flying lessons and picturesque scenic passenger flights over the Rila mountains and Borovets ski resort for that birds eye view of the area. MOUNTAINEERING AND ROCK CLIMBING It is difficult to surpass the excitement of climbing in Bulgaria, and the keen mountaineer will never forget the thrill of the many ascents the mountains have to offer. Experienced guides are available and not only ensure that you make the most of your climb, but are also on hand should an emergency arise. Besides the chance to follow mountaineering courses, trips are organised by specialised agencies in the area of Rila Mountains. Directions

Chalet UB is nestled in the quaint and picturesque mountain village of Maritsa. Maritsa is a traditional Bulgarian village named after the river that runs through the village and has a population of approx 700 people. It is located only 15 minutes from the slopes, shops and nightlife that the international resort of Borovets has to offer. Borovets is a major international winter resort with many ski runs and a summer hiking base with the gondola lift running year round. Maritsa itself has a beautiful church, which can be seen from Chalet UB’s balconies, a traditional tavern for those who fancy a quiet drink with the locals and within a few minutes walk you can be alone enjoying the wilderness of this stunning mountain region.

Maritsa is easy to find and Chalet UB has ample parking area for your hire car (if required). The village is just 45 minutes from Sofia airport with the majority of the journey being on the excellent new Highway 1. There are interesting surrounding villages such as Raduil with its local shops, cafe and interesting monuments including a communist tank and plane. Dolna Banya is a spa town with an Olympic sized mineral water pool and many Mehanas and Restaurants, it will soon be home to a Nicklaus designed 18 hole golf championship golf course. Samakov the other side of Borovets is the largest town in the region and offers a collection of shops, markets, an attractive church and tree-lined boulevards with restaurants and coffee houses.
