This stunning contemporary villa set in a quiet and peaceful location within a nature reserve amongst pine and eucalyptus trees surrounding the lagoon. Offering the the perfect base for a fantastic holiday. 5 minute walk from the picturesque Obidos Lagoon. 5-10 minute drive to the blue flag beaches of Praia del Rey, Baleal and Peniche. Places of interest nearby include the beautiful walled city of Obidos, the popular sea side resort of Sao Martinho do Porto and the old fishing town of Peniche. For the family there is bowling in Caldas da Rainha, go-karting for the teenagers and adults alike to race around the circuits, water parks in Peniche and Lourniha, cinemas in the towns where they are all English spoken with Portuguese sub titles, tennis, horse riding and fishing. The new Bom Sucesso golf course is within a five minute drive. World renowned Champion golf course Praia D'el Rey is a 10 minute drive.
Praia D'el Rey's children's club "Clube Aventura" (up to 16 years old) offers outdoor activities including surfing, body boarding, quad biking, paintball, archery, kayaking and beach/sports games. Family excursions and activities are also available. Bookable through "Clube Aventura" next to the club house. Seven tennis courts, coaching available, five minutes drive from villa. Local places of interest:- Obidos (UNESCO World Heritage site 15-20 minutes drive) is a medieval walled town with cobbled streets, castle and plenty of craft/gift shops, restaurants and bars. There is a Chocolate Festival in February, Medieval Fair in July and a Christmas Fair in December. There is also a horse riding school that offer horse riding, horse jumping and lessons through Equestrian Association "Cavalo de Obidos". Peniche and Baleal (10-15 minutes drive) are popular family beaches and surfing spots with seafood restaurants. The aqua park (seasonal) at Peniche (10 minutes drive) and go-karting at Dinokart near Lourinha (20 minutes drives) are both great fun. Caldas da Rainha (15-20 minutes drive) boasts a daily food market, ceramics museum, restaurants and comprehensive shopping facilities. Lisbon, the vibrant capital city of Portugal, is one hours drive boasting museums, theatres, galleries, shops, restaurants and nightlife. Ancient town of Sintra, UNESCO World Heritage town, famous for its 15th century palace and Leiria, with its fortified castle built 12th century are both within an hours drive. The great abbeys of Batalha and Alcobaça and the well known shrine of Fátima are all within an easy drive of the villa. The Buddha Eden Garden is set within the lush grounds of the famous Quinta dos Loridos estate in Bombarral, a few kilometers south of the popular old town of Obidos. The garden itself occupies about 35 hectares of the 100 hectare property.

Praia D’el Rey has a beautiful stretch of long sandy beach which is excellent for surfing and walking. The beautiful Obidos lagoon, (2 min walk) stretches in from the Atlantic and is ideal for families and water sports. Near Foz do Arelho (north side of Obidos Lagoon) an array of water activities are on offer including: windsurfing, kite surfing, canoeing, wake boarding and water skiing.The sandy surfing beaches of Baleal and peniche are 20min drive with boat trips to the berlenga islands. Praia Del Rey golf on the Atlantic Coast north of Lisbon has miles of golden sand beaches stretching from Cascais in the south to Sao Martinho de Porto in the north. The Praia Del Rey 18 hole par 72 championship links course was designed by American architect Cabell B. Robinson, listed as Portugal's best course in the 2002/2003 Peugeot Golf Guide and rated 13th Best Continental Europe golf course by Golf World magazine. The course is set in extensive grounds of pine forest and undulating dunes with spectacular views over the Atlantic. With nine holes winding through the pine trees and nine hugging the Atlantic cliffs, Praia D’El Rey is a demanding test where the premium is on accuracy. The 18-hole Championship Golf course of Bom Sucesso designed by the world-renowned architect Donald Steel has opened to the public very recently. Bom Sucesso is a PAR 72 golf course with an area exceeding 600 thousand sqm. Obidos medieval town approx 15km. Peniche fishing village approx 14km. Caldas da Rainha - large town for markets, supermarkets etc approx 12km. Foz do Arelho lagoon-side resort approx 15km.
