The apartment is situated on a promontory overlooking the sea on the edge of a beautiful village. Unlike holiday resorts which close down in the autumn, the village is alive all year round. There are bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. There is one open-air restaurant/night spot situated in the most amazing position next to the sea. All bars and restaurants are just a few blocks away, even the establishments on the opposite side of the harbour. The restaurants serve fresh seafood and a wide range of dishes. Both the local wine and beer are great. The Migros supermarket is well stocked and only a short stroll away from the apartment.
There is a balcony extending from each of the bedrooms and a main balcony near the lounge, equipped with outdoor furniture. All of the windows have insect screens. Every room is air-conditioned. The air-conditioning units can also be used for heating during cold weather. There are sea views from both the lounge and bedroom 1.
Guests can use the shared pool which has a children’s area and sunbeds. There is also an on-site gym.
The Turquoise Coast captivates tourists with its blue water. Small, frequently deserted bays border the coastline around Gulluk. There are boats departing every morning, available at the harbour at affordable rates which include lunch meals. There are usually visits made to several bays. Tourists who choose to fish are guided by the crew. Swimming and snorkelling are also possible pastime during the trips, as well as beachcombing. The locals are very accommodating. Moreover, local restaurants charge very reasonable prices.
Spring in Turquoise Coast is generally very warm, with the temperature ranging from mid 20s to a maximum of 40C in late July and August. The cool breeze from the sea makes the heat bearable.
The village is favoured by anglers who can cast a line from various places around the bays or book a trip with the local fishermen. The locals are extremely adept with merely a line with hooks on it. Some restaurants will cook the fish caught by customers, but charges apply.
The town of Gulluk is located at the north of the Bodrum Peninsula. The area is surrounded by hills covered with olive, fig and citrus trees, overlooking the Gulluk Bay, which is known as a fishing paradise in Turkey. The vicinity is full of pine-topped hills of the Gulluk Korfezi (Gulf of Mandalya) on the southern Aegean coast.
The town is a gateway to Turkey’s rich historical heritage. The village is close to Ephesus and the Mausoleum at Halikarnassus (Bodrum), two of the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. There are tours available to these locations and drivers or guides can often be found by asking the proprietor of Joe’s Bar (Kurt), down by the harbour-front.
There are two upcoming golf courses at north and south points of Gulluk, both being within easy reach by car. There are also plans to build a Marina within the harbour.
Shopping areas are also available in the village as well as in Bodrum and Milas. A small bus can be used to travel to these locations.
