Sunlight Gumusluk is a ground floor apartment on complex overlooking the pool and with fantastic sea views. The apartment is fitted with all new fixtures and fittings. The complex has excellent facilities for adults and children alike with two large communal swimming pools, tennis courts, children's play area, cafe with internet access and sauna/gym. The complex is located up in the hills and is a short walk (or dolmus ride) from the beach and local fishing village of Gumusluk with its excellent fish restaurants and traditional Turkish cuisine. Nearby is the marina and town of Yalikavak and not much further away is lively Bodrum and Gumbet which can be reached by taxi or dolmus (Turkish economical minibus). The apartment has been furnished and equipped to a very high finish with air conditioning, fully equipped kitchen, en suite bathroom and family bathroom, etc. An excellent terrace with stunning views and a built in barbecue allow for enjoyable and relaxing evenings and al fresco dining on those gloriously warm Turkish evenings.
St. Paul was born on Turkey's Mediterranean Coast and preached on its shores; Mark Antony gave a piece of it to Cleopatra; Hittites, Lycians, Lydians, Romans, Greeks, Byzantines, Seljuks, Ottomans, and many other peoples have come and gone from this region. Even today this coast, which merges with the the country's Aegean Coast to the west and borders Syria to the east, offers something for everyone: upscale resorts with all the modern conveniences; tiny hamlets where virgin forest is separated from the sea by strips of unspoiled beach; and, above all, the knowledge that to walk the Mediterranean shore is to walk hand in hand with history.
The modern Turkish Mediterranean still contains much of its ancient counterpart. Unspoiled fishing villages, among them Üçagiz on Kekova Sound, share the shoreline with busy resort towns such as Marmaris and Antalya. The coast's bustling bazaars are stocked with bright, baggy trousers; piles of halvah (a tasty candy made from sesame seeds); and jams made of eggplant, rose, and other exotic ingredients. Though tourism has developed considerably here in recent years and big tour buses are an everyday sight now, it has not yet reached the point where restaurants are serving mainly fish-and-chips or where the locals think of you only in terms of the trinkets you might buy (though you will find some who do). Here if you ask young man directions to the main highway, he is still apt to jump onto his motorcycle and lead you to it.
From the historic cities of Troy and Ephesus, on through the many layers of its ancient archaeological past, Turkey is without-doubt, one of the world's most interesting and well-traveled destinations.
Add to the history lesson some of the finest white sand beaches anywhere, fishing and scuba diving venues, beautiful national parks, resorts, outstanding food, hilltop castles, golden mosques, exotic shopping bazaars, stunning mountain scenery that almost defies description, and now, a much-improved transportation system.
Turkey's Mediterranean shore, called the Turquoise Coast, is nearly 1600 km (nine hundred ninety four miles) long, scattered with fine-sand beaches and sprinkled abundantly with classical cities turned to picturesque ruins.
The Turquoise Coast is the first place to think of when you're considering a seaside vacation in Turkey. It has more and better beaches and resorts than does the Aegean coast, and warmer, saltier water than the Black Sea coast.
Whether you consider Bodrum the south end of the Aegean or the west end of the Mediterranean, it is still Turkey's foremost chic seaside resort, with two perfect bays framing a noble crusader castle, and the flashiest discos in the land.
Turkey is a fantastic place to visit ! It offers excellent value for money , delicious food (catering very well for both meat and fish lovers and also vegetarians), great outdoor markets where you can purchase clothing , jewelry, leather goods, rugs, linen all at reasonable prices.

The local airport is Bodrum international.(BJV) . Flying time from UK is approximately 4 hours.
The apartment is located about 55 kilometres from Bodrum Airport. The drive takes 45 minutes or so, and is very scenic and a wonderful introduction to Turkey. It includes a long stretch along the coast, stunning views of Bodrum and the Crusader castle and finally glimpses of a bygone Turkey as you climb the hills that form the spine of the peninsula and make your way towards Gumusluk.
You are usually out of the airport in less than 30 minutes - don’t forget £10 in sterling per person for a visa which you obtain at the airport. You will also need a full UK passport with 6 months validity.
Car Hire is also available for pick up/drop off directly outside the airport and we can provide you with detailed instructions for driving to the apartment.
During the season (April- October) there are a number of charter flights available) . Well known charter airlines flying to Bodrum include Excel airways , FlyThomascook, ThomsonFly , First Choice Airways , Goldtrail....
Travel time from Bodrum airport ot Gumusluk village / Sunlight complex is about 45 minutes.
The popular resort of Bodrum, called Halicarnassos in ancient times, is the South Aegean’s most attractive resort, described by Homer as ‘The land of eternal blue’. The hillside is covered in painted villas adorned with bougainvillea. Narrow streets wind their way down to the sea, and the peaceful setting of its twin harbours offer shelter for yachts.
Fantastic Holiday
Hi Chris
Mandy and myself had a great time, we were very pleased with the apartment, and the complex as a whole. Had a couple of nights at the 49rs, nice people and a pleasant relaxed environment.
We will book it again, but would also be interested in buying.
