Haywain Barn is a spacious barn that sleeps up to eighteen people + cot. Haywain barn provides flexible accommodation, bedrooms are fitted with super king size zip-n-link beds which can be split to make two 3ft singles.
Haywain Barn is part of the Barton Court Estate of five - 5* properties and SPA Complex - comprising: Haywain Barn (sleeps up to 18) with infrared sauna and private hot tub, Meadowsweet Barn (sleeps up to 9), Bramble Cottage (sleeps up to 5), The Studio (sleeps 2) with private hot tub, Owl's Hollow (sleeps 2) with private hot tub.
The SPA complex offers: indoor swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, relaxation area, sauna, gym and treatment rooms. Barton Court offer a wide range of complementary and holistic beauty therapies.
Haywain Barn once a double threshing barn, grain store and round house is now a beautiful structure which has been sympathetically converted to a very high standard using quality local materials and now offers the luxurious refinements of a modern home combined with many original period features which includes high vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and floor to ceiling glazing which provides lots of natural light.
Haywain Barn commands an elevated position, is south facing and overlooks its own private gardens and extensive grounds and there are views over open countryside with Dartmoor and Exmoor in the distance.
On entering Barton Court there is certainly that wow factor and this continues as guests walk through the huge reclaimed church doors into Haywain Barn. From the vestibule into the dining room with its log fire and huge dining area with seating for eighteen (the tables can be reconfigured for different sized groups) the galleried landing from the upstairs lounge looks down onto this grand area guests can enjoy this wonderful property.
From the dining room there is an impressive staircase leading to the galleried lounge, the East and West wings and the Round house master suite. Each of the wings comprises two bedrooms and a bathroom – ideal for families who want a little bit of privacy yet still belong to a large group. The master Suite — built in the round house is almost thirty feet across with separate dressing room and en suite bathroom has panoramic views as well as high vaulted ceilings.
The downstairs lounge is light and airy with leather sofas, recliner chair, TV, Freeview and DVD. Leading from this is a downstairs bedroom.
The spacious kitchen/breakfast room is built on the round house and is ideal for informal entertaining with an electric oven, microwave oven, american style fridge freezer, electric and gas hobs. French doors lead directly onto a private patio — idea for outdoor eating.
On the other side of the round house guests will find Haywain Barn’s own private six seat hot tub — available from 1st February to 31st November.
Haywain Barn comprises six bedrooms — five upstairs and one downstairs. Five of the bedrooms have super king-size zip-n-link beds (can be split into two three feet singles). The sleeping arrangements are very flexible. The sixth bed is a double Craftmatic electric bed. There are four additional single beds — two in the master suite and one in each of the wings there is a sofa bed in the downstairs bedroom. Haywain Barn can sleep up to eighteen in the six bedrooms. Its flexibility allows guests to tell us how they want the rooms configured.
First basket of logs is provided — subsequent baskets of logs are £3.00 each. Please provide guests own kindling and ignition source (matches, lighter and fire lighters). Barbeque lighter fluid should not be used to start the log burner.
