Excellent cycling. Many glorious walks from the door around Mt Ventoux, and nearby on the Dentelles. Affluent Carpentras nearby. Historic Avignon 30 mins. Vaison la Romaine, Orange, Gigondas, Seguret, Chateauneuf, Isles sur la Sorgues within 60 mins. Ground Floor: 2 sitting rooms, dining room, kitchen inc dishwasher, electric oven & hob, fridge freezer etc. Patio door to shady bbq terrace. Utility room with washing machine. Shower room & 2 separate WC. 1st floor: 2 separate wings each with own stairs. One has twin bedroom, double bedroom with picture window, separate bathroom (bath/shower, basin, WC). 2nd stairs to twin bedroom, small double, then v large double with picture window & en-suite (bath, basin, WC). Outside: Private tiled swimming pool (10 x 5 m), garden, covered and open terraces, bbq, garden furniture.
Wonderful walking country! All within 60 mins (and most much less) you can enjoy history in Avignon, Orange, Vaison la Romaine, Senanque. Scenery at Luberon, Gorges de la Nesque, Dentelles de Montmirail, Mont Ventoux, Pont du Gard. Wines from Ventoux, Beaumes de Venise, Gigondas, Chateauneuf du Pape, Seguret, Cairanne, Rastau, Cotes du Rhone. Shopping in Avignon, Carpentras, Isle sur la Sorgue. A little further (within 2 hrs) are Aix en Provence, Carmargue, Arles, les Alpilles, St Remy, les Baux and many other exciting places. The vibrant Monday market in Bedoin (3 km) is a must! Other day trips can include canoeing through the Gorge de la Ceze, the Dinosaur Park (young kids only!), Sunday antique market at Isle sur la Sorgue, the Art Galleries in Avignon and Vaison, or a trip to the beach (if you must). Best of all is a pastis sundowner on the terrace watching the sun set across the vines and cypress trees.

Cycling, Skiing, Hiking etc: Mont Ventoux is regularly used as a Tour de France stage, but it's not for casual cyclists! There is plenty of cycling elsewhere for the less serious minded. Mont Ventoux has a couple of ski runs which open on occasion if there is sufficient snow, but it is NOT a ski resort! There is plenty of wonderful walking, much 'from the door' and other regions within 20-30 mins drive (such as the Dentelles). Mont Ventoux caters for all levels of walking, and there is a wealth of flora and fauna to enjoy. Wild board, deer, buzzard, eagle, wallcreeper, hoopoe, shrike etc may all be seen. Spring flowers (especially many orchids), and autumn wild mushrooms. Decent golf course 1 hour south near St Remy. Riding stables in the village. Wines! : The nearest vineyard is (British owned) 5 mins walk above the house (Cotes du Ventoux). There are several excellent Ventoux vineyards within 20 mins drive, and a very good Cave Cooperative in Bedoin (3 km). 20 mins away is Beaumes de Venise (sweet whites, luscious underrated reds). 30 mins brings in Gigondas (big beefy reds), Seguret, Cairanne (much improved Rhone village red and white), also about 30 mins drive. 35 mins away is Chateauneuf du Pape - the oldest AOC in France. All these regions have many cellars that allow visits (phone ahead), and most have general sales outlets also. Eating Out: An excellent pizzeria is in the little village Les Baux (5 mins walk), and Ste Colombe (another little village 6 mins walk above the house) has a good general bar/restaurant and an excellent more expensive restaurant. Bedoin (3 km) has several eating places, covering most price ranges. Within 30 mins drive is a good selection of more expensive restaurants with Michelin and/or Gault Millau recommendations.
