On a 120km stretch of uninterrupted golden Blue Flag beaches on the Spanish Algarve: 20 minutes drive from the Portugese border & the Portuguese Algarve and one hour by motorway to Seville , Cadiz and Jerez - three of Spain 's most atmospheric and interesting cities. The nearest beach is a 500m/10 minute stroll around the local golf course and is protected by a promontory of sand dunes - 'La Flecha' as locally known. This has created a 300 metre-wide sheltered stretch of seawater, which provides a haven for fishing and water sports. One can also catch a local ferry across to the land spit to wander along its deserted 4 kilometre long golden beach and appreciate the natural, unspoilt beauty that it has to offer. The area also features a host of nature with stunning local scenery as it is in acres of Pine woodland, next to the Donana National Park - one of the last great wildernesses of Europe & home to flamingos and the rare Iberian Lynx. Nearby are the beautiful Andalucian mountains.

If you have a group for a larger party/more than one family, we can easily arrange for more houses to be rented, all in the same place! Family friendly: The area is very family friendly and whilst there’s a large swimming pool on complex, there is also a kiddies’ pool - both of these are open with a resident lifeguard for the peak seasons of the year. A further children's play area & football pitch are immediately next door. There are also fantastic Paddle Tennis courts on-site (a very Spanish game, considered a 'cross' between tennis and squash...!). Welcome pack & Supermarkets: If you wish we can provide a welcome pack upon arrival with all essentials such as bread, milk, cereal, pasta, wine/beer etc. (pretty much whatever you would like) should you wish to be immediately 'settled in', or arrive late in the evening. The nearest supermarket is about 5 minutes drive, the local one in El Portil, and there is a HUGE local 'superstore' 10 minutes away ('Carrefour').

Please note that the listed prices assume that you will use our towels, beach towels and linen on the beds. If you prefer to provide your own then we will be able to discount the price by a further €50 as we will save this much on the laundry.

£ STERLING AND €UROS ACCEPTED

25% deposit required by bank transfer (or cash) to secure booking - this to be received within 5 days of placing reservation. The remaining 75% balance to be received no later than 6 weeks before the holiday start date, or we reserve the right to re-advertise for this period.

A €250 fully refundable deposit is collected for security upon arrival. This can be returned in £ sterling, if preferred.

You will see prices increase substantially over July and August - these are peak months of the Spanish summer holidays when there is rarely a day that any rental property in the region will be left empty! However, if you'd like to stay for more than 1 week we can talk about a discount, as longer stays will reduce the overheads necessary. Regrettably, it is not financially viable for me to knock much off the price over these peak months due to popularity and almost guaranteed rentals - but it is certainly a great place to be at those times and even paying the full amount over this period it still only works out at ~€20pppn based on six of you!

(Please note that with the 10-for-7 offer, there are necessarily some restrictions with dates - largely dependent on whether or not there are other bookings expected.)

Cancellation fees depend on notice given and are as follows:
- More than 6 weeks prior to arrival: 25% of total Rental Sum
- 30–42 days prior to arrival: 50% of total Rental Sum. The outstanding 50% will be returned to the guest within 10 days of cancellation date.
- Less than 30 days prior to arrival: 100% of Rental Sum, this potentially to be reduced to 50% if we are able to secure another rental for the same period and reclaim some of the money.
- Regrettably the 25% deposit is non-refundable. We recommend that you purchase travel insurance with cancellation cover.
- The number of nights of your reservation cannot be reduced, but additional nights may be possible.
- Cancellations or changes are best made via email -you should request a ‘read' receipt from us to ensure that we have seen your email

Whilst bedroom 3 is normally made-up with only 2 beds, 2 further excellent-quality beds (with good quality, comfy mattresses & bases) can spring-up from underneath the single beds to give very comfortable sleeping for 4 adults or children in the same room.

Additionally, all twin beds can easily be pushed together to make doubles.

Air-con throughout the property, in all bedrooms (unlike some of the other properties in the area - the rooms can become very hot without a/c with 40degree+ temperatures!). Mosquito nets also hung above all beds for your comfort & enjoyment

High standard, luxurious furnishings throughout with marble floors. 100% cotton bedding/ sheets, towels & beach towels are all provided, although we can offer a discount if you prefer to bring your own as we will save on laundry charges (ask if you would like this).

For maximum flexibility with bedding arrangements, we also provide (free of charge) a child's campbed and a cot (although you need to provide your own bedding for the cot). A highchair is also provided, and smart mosquito flyscreens are fitted to all windows and mosquito nets suspended over all beds.

Stunning local nature & wildlife: Ideal for walking, cycling, painting or just relaxing, the area is set in acres of Pine woodland & boasts stunning local scenery, nature, birds & wildlife (90% protected no-build area prevents over-development) next to the Donaña National Park - one of the last great wildernesses of Europe & home to flamingos & the rare Iberian Lynx. The beautiful mountains of Andalucia are also nearby. In addition to Nuevo Portil's peaceful, chilled-out atmosphere, on its doorstep is the wonderfully tranquil village of El Rompido with a newly-built marina and multiple fine fish restaurants. The nearest large town is Huelva, 20kms away, hosting many fine shops, historical sites & familiar Spanish cobbled squares & walkways. *Unlike many of the other ‘Costas’ that are swamped by foreigners, Costa de la Luz is swamped instead with an abundance of blue flag beaches, golf courses and 90% protected countryside. It is one of the Spaniards’ best kept secrets – they all love to go there on holiday themselves!

Activities & Eating Out: Nuevo Portil is on a 120km stretch of uninterrupted golden beaches, for which Huelva has been awarded the European Blue Flag for many years due to their variety, quality and beautiful natural surroundings. In addition to 'sight-seeing' the area also offers some fantastic golf courses, or for the more adventurous, fun activities such as kite-surfing, go-carting, a water-park, horse riding, a wide array of water sports and cultural activites such as local 'ferias'. There are also many new cycle paths developed through the local forests. ...If this all may prove a little too much, it is still an ideal place to just come and relax..! Highly recommend is the local cuisine & wonderful wines at the excellent seafood restaurants, tapas & beach bars nearby. There are a number of restaurants in the area within walking distance, but even more by car (within a 10 min drive there are about another 20 places situated around the villages of El Portil, El Rompido and along all the beaches).

Night Life, Weather & Group Bookings: There are great local bars & watering holes (as in any traditional Spanish coastal village), but if you really want to paint the tiles, nearby Huelva is cracking for the night life! It’s far enough away that it doesn't disturb the local tranquility, yet is only a short ride in a cab & it tends to be extremely busy at the weekends especially. The Spaniards keep the clubs open & rocking until 8am including a fantastic one in an old castle… …or you might prefer to stay ‘close to home’ to watch sport in the local Sports Bar. Weather: With 300 days sunshine a year in the Costa de La Luz, it’s hot practically all year round, rarely dropping below 20C. Golf: Where to start…? The property is located in the midst of a cluster of courses, from Nuevo Portil itself to El Rompido, Bellavista, Islantilla, Isla Canela and Dunas de Donana all within an hours drive maximum giving enough variety for a new course every day! Nuevo Portil’s own golf course covers an area of 46 hectares, completely surrounded by pine trees. Founded in 2002, the exquisite design by Alfonso Viador maintains its initial flavour with wide fairways and soft pleasant greens. While the course's smart technical design is suitable for international championships, golfers of every level will find the course enjoyable. Likewise the El Rompido golf has just seen its second 18-hole course open June 2008, and it is surrounded by natural marshes and parklands with views to the sea. Over the holes of the courses you will always enjoy the heat &beautiful scenery of the coastline of Huelva Province: never ending dune beaches, ocean vistas, pines and century-old savins… There is the option to pay tee fees from the UK that might work out cheaper & we also have a very professional team who can also cater for golfing parties – Ladies’ & Men’s – on & off the course. Everything you would wish for!
We had a fantastic holiday while staying here in March. The house has all the facilities you could wish for, and many extras the owner has kindly provided like the games consoles (x box, nintendo 64, playstation 2), DVD's, and books. The decor is modern and homely, clean and well maintained. We cooked in the well equiped kitchen and ate on the ground floor patio, which is planted with pretty flowers. The house is within a very nice, well looked after and secure complex and has a great view of the 14th hole, gardens, tennis courts and pine trees beyond. We enjoyed the walk along the beach and through the pines to El Rompido and the Orange Grove for a few beers. Matt was a great host in The Orange Grove, where we played pool and drank beer and coffee and had a laugh before he drove us home. Had fun trying to understand Spanish tapas menus, as we knew no Spanish and could have done with a dictionary but the locals are friendly and happy to help. We recommend you eat in the cafes where the locals go and ejoy the local ham, fried peppers and onions, calamari (chocos fritos!), cheese, olives, it is all yummy. Good shops in Huelva and Seville is lovely, especially the historic Santa Cruz area, but don't bother with the bus tour, as its rubbish! Perfect last minute get away....
we had an excellent stay at this place. Extremely easy to access from the airport, we drove and were there shortly after touching down in Spain. plenty to do.... I went with seven girl friends for a much needed break. The house was in fantastic condition, beautifully furnished, and felt like a home. We all had ample room with plenty of outside, and inside space. It was complete with everything we needed...the weather was beautiful and we enjoyed just a simple stroll to the beach..the local bars and restaurants are really close,and we loved the local night life(recommend Scorpion Bar!!)... but not too close to disturb us...a free local bus (from the orange grove bar)did us a treat. The bonus of being close to both Portugal yet in Spain, was perfect to take advantage of...since we managed a day trip to the Portugese Algarve too! will come back soon.!!!

Great apartment. Very pleasant stay June 09.
Enjoyed an excellent break in this very well appointed and modern holiday apartment in Nuevo Portil in June 09. Very spacious and tastefully furnished dining and living room area with terrace. Three bedrooms of which two have their own terrace areas with views over adjacent golf course and woodland. Well maintained swimming pool available in the centre of the apartment complex. Close proximity to sea (c. 10 minute walk). Enjoyed the beautiful long beach which has dunes at the eastern end. Great for swimming and water sports. Bars and restaurants available within walking distance in Nuevo Portil town. Would recommend the Bar Restaurante As De Oro in Nuevo Portil (you can find it on Calle Camaleon towards the eastern side of the town). Extremely friendly and generous owner (Antonio). Town has an authentic spanish feel to it. Easy access via road from Seville – would definitely recommend spending a day in Seville itself. Nearby Huelva very interesting too – Columbus sailed from here – visited an interesting museum about him where you can go on replicas of his ships. Very successful and relaxing holiday.

fabulous place, lovely decor, enjoyed our stay
Impressed with the quality of the house - recently kitted out with great furniture etc. We made lots of use of the outdoor seating - the weather was great all day and night. Lovely site with nearby pool - although we didn't try out the spanish tennis game! Very close to the beach and walking distance to shops, restaurants etc. A large market nearby on Sunday. Very friendly locals and inexpensive food/drink. Good area - if you have a car, plenty nearby to sight-see.
