East Winds Cottage is a beautifully converted coach-house situated in the heart of the charming Royal Deeside village of Aboyne and offers easy access to the various sporting facilities in the area, including fishing, golf, gliding, walking, orienteering, canoeing and cycling. Skiing at Glenshee or The Lecht is less than an hour away.
Aboyne nestles in the beautiful hills of Royal Deeside and follows the north bank of the River Dee.
The Cairngorm National Park is only a few miles west of Aboyne. Perfect to get out and about and experience the rivers, hills, forests, wildlife and culture of this remarkable area. Explore the castle trails, whisky trails, gardens and many other activities available around Aboyne.
The Royal Deeside Walking Festival takes place during the last week of May. The Aboyne and Deeside Festival is held from late June to mid-August and the Aboyne Games, considered one of the best in Scotland, is on the first Saturday in August. Over the years, the Games have attracted thousands of visitors to witness the annual show of Scottish culture in one of the most scenic parts of Aberdeenshire.
Aboyne has a number of amenities, including a recreation centre housing a library, swimming pool, fitness room and theatre/cinema. The village green is used for picnics and hosts rugby and football matches and boasts a well equipped children's play area. There are several shops, restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, gift shops, a pharmacy and small cottage hospital all within easy walking distance of East Winds Cottage.
Ground Floor
From the lane off Station Brae, enter into a large and bright dining room with table and chairs to seat eight and open staircase leading upstairs. The double doors lead to the kitchen which is well appointed with an electric double oven range cooker, five gas burners and an extractor hood, kitchen table and four chairs, under counter fridge, freezer, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. Off the kitchen, there is a pantry area and cloakroom with WC and wash hand basin. The rear door leads to a further parking area and large, lockable shed ideal for storing sports equipment. The Sitting Room is furnished with comfy sofas and has a TV, DVD, radio/CD player and broadband connection. There is also an electric stove effect fire. The sheltered front garden has a garden table and chairs and a rotary clothes dryer.
First Floor
Main bedroom with super king size bed and connecting door to family bathroom, one double bedroom and one twin bedroom with guest beds able to accommodate four adults. The family bathroom has a bath with an electric shower over bath, WC, wash hand basin and bidet.
The cottage is fully equipped and centrally heated. Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels are provided. Our duvets and pillows have microfibre covers and soft hollowfibre fillings. Microfibre is the ideal option for anyone with an allergy
A selection of DVDs, books and board games are available for guests.
A travel cot, high chair & changing mat are available on request.
